My ID says if the flooring of my flat doesn't have any screeding or old tiles, then using vinyl flooring is just as expensive as using tiles. Is this true?

guys i saw some shops selling vinyl that can be overlay in bathroom, both the wall and the floor.
really would like to take that on as it requires no hacking and can be done within the day.

however i have concerns on the wet area of the bathroom. is the vinyl really waterproof and the water will not "leak" and trap water under the vinyl?

and can vinyl be pasted on bathroom walls? the shop was saying its 100% waterproof but i have my doubts.

i have been using the 0.7mm mori homz vinly now coming 2 years for my living room

strangely.. my kids play those toy car for toddlers whereby they can sit on the toy car and roll around. the wheels seems to have cause scratch marks on the vinyl.

Kinda wierd for a 0.7mm wear layer to get scratches so easily

My master bedroom vinyl using another reputable brand in SG but does not have scratch marks. The MBR one only 0.5mm wear layer.

Well, they marketed it as highly scratch resistant due to its thicker wear layer.

My MBR vinyl from a famous Vinyl competitor do not have the same scratch marks and its only 0.5mm wear layer.

Its not how much i expect it to be, its just how a marketed 0.7mm wear layer gets scratched up so easily compared to a 0.5mm wear layer vinyl which doesnt.

the good thing is vinyl flooring is easily and quickly replaceable within a day after 2-3 years and is cheap too compared to other flooring choices!

the alternative is to invest in proper flooring need to engage renovations to remove the vinyl and below tiles, hack off the floor and redo the cement screening smooth, then overlay white marble flooring big tiles can be done in under two to three weeks if owners vacate the place for works to proceed.

yea my MBR is done by Evorich. my previous home also Evorich. No issues.

But my 2nd home i have used Mori since they marketed it 0.7mm wear layer. Their customer service is top notch, no issues on that. Their boss John is very good and approachable.

Just wondering why a 0.7mm wear layer gets scuffed up so easily from a toddler car when "driving around" in my living room but on the Evorich one in my MBR, it held up pretty well..

bro bto is brand new if didn’t opt for hdb flooring will be raw concrete flooring, best base for interior designer firm to design and do your new house able to within three to four weeks done reno!

for long lasting and cooling in SG warm weather, I still prefers natural marble flooring, twice a year need engage maintenance services to polish the marble damn swee like mirror

its individual preference.

i find tiles are so old school. Like old people kind of design. to each its own.

anyway i overlayed and there are still tiles underneath. Can always next time remove vinyl and use tiles anyway.

do you even know what you are talking about? comparing vinyl flooring with those cheapo tiles from HDB?

some of the higher end condos are selling their projects with vinyl flooring.

what's so artificial and boring about vinyl flooring? the cheapo marble look alike tiles don't look artificial and boring?
