Tyres won't affect FC until that bad.

EJB is right.

Wrong tyre size might affect on mileage, but not vibrating while idling.

Most possible areas to check is engine related or/and gearbox related.
possible workaround and monitor after that could be change of engine oil brand? time for maintenance? engine overhaul require?

Only the actual car driver know best.

A friend of mine just bought Vios four months back (traded in his old Vios). His driving pattern is about 80% City and 20% highway.

His mileage is 14.5km/liter before the 1st 1000km servicing.
After the servicing, his mileage drop to 9km/liter.
Reply from Toyota Service Advisor - no issue with the engine and to monitor for another round of maintenance.
After the 4th round of maintenance, the mileage is still around 8km to 9km/liter, which is worst of before the 1st servicing and also his previous Vios.

Info. There is no change in his normal driving route or pattern.

U mean u put to neutral and stop and car still vibrate like crazy like engine about to stall? How abt u off air con?

Hi guys,

Need some help in identifying some sound with my vios 08 E (ncp93)..Above 60km/h my car has this small "ringing/metal rotating" sound only when I tap the gas pedal very lightly and as well as letting off the gas pedal, sometimes it would have additional noise like "sand in gear". Don't have this sound when I tap on more gas

I have changed fan belt, spark plugs, engine mounting and serviced the car (both engine and auto oil + filter) but still have this sound..any idea what is the issue?

I have the sound recorded as well, let me know if you can help and I can send over the recording for better analysis

Find what they put in, I think they put in 5w40, you can try to swap to 5w30 or 5w20.

You may need to turn on the volume to be able to hear the sound, starting from 20 secs you can hear it

I think the sound most probably from engine bay

Not vibrate until like egine about to stall but will vibrate abit. Machiam the RPM will drop below 1k then go back, drop and go back to 1k. If off air con, sometimes only.

I know for sure my compressor going to kong liao. That was what the mech told me.

I have a similar problem like yours w/o air con compressor/sound issue.
Another 6mths before COE due.

I went to JB check, the mech say its normal for 1st gen Vios to have this vibrating issue. Sometimes abit irritating.

Hi guys, i need to step more on the accelerator (11yo NCP93) when below quarter tank. is this a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter? would appreciate any advice. thanks
