How's the queue like now for visa application. Thinking of applying tourist visa but haven't book air tickets etc yet. How much time to allocate for the application process.

According to earlier post in this thread and the visa info website you need to book air ticket and accommodation first as that info is needed for your visa application

I book my appt in end May, the earliest date was 27 June. When i went there, there are 150+ people ahead of me waiting for their queue number to be called. Fortunately more than 10 counters are opened that day. Waiting time was approx 1.5 hrs

Interested in this and the 24-hour visa free transit as well. Anyone has any experience? Is there a need to apply for it?

Foreigners to visiting the Pearl River Delta

People from countries that have established diplomatic relations with China and are traveling in a tourist group organized by a travel agency registered in Hong Kong or Macao can travel to the nine mainland Chinese cities of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, and Huizhou) for up to six days without a visa. The same policy also applies to tour groups visiting Shantou in Guangdong Province, as long as their activities do not extend beyond the administrative area of Shantou.

To be eligible for this policy, the tour group must depart from Hong Kong or Macao.


The other way is 144 hours Visa free transit:
2) Transit within 144 Hours

Under the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, foreign travelers can apply for a six-day entry permit to certain Chinese cities upon arrival at the port of entry, provided they hold a passport from one of the 53 eligible countries. They also must show that they are traveling on to a third country after leaving China, which means they must show a connecting ticket to a third country when arriving in China.


Eligible travelers can only apply for the 144-hour visa-free transit if they enter through one of 29 designated ports of entry in 20 mainland Chinese cities. In addition, travelers are only allowed to travel within a certain area on the entry permit and exit the country through designated ports as well. People who travel outside the permitted area and exit the country through a non-designated port may face certain penalties.

Alright, I believe currently, Visa not required to Hainan for 30 days, while 15 days for Mainland China.
But, if I were to stay in Hainan for 14 days, then intend to head to GZ > SZ > HK, I will require a Visa, yes?
Since I've used up the 15 days Visa free period for Mainland China.

Or I should head to HK > SZ > GZ instead to reset the count and skip requiring Visa for this Mainland leg of the journey.
Anybody that had prior experiences able to advise.

There are conditions tied to the 30-day visa-free policy. It must be obtained through a tour operator. I believe onward travel to Mainland China is not allowed.

Don't need tour operator to arrange for 30 day.

When you reach Hainan, Customs will ask you 15-day or 30-day.

The stamp they give doesn't show 15 or 30 days visa, so need to self-remember, but already logged in their system

Very good then.
Next thing to try is to take the 30-day stamp and after 15 days, fly onward to the mainland and finally try to fly out of China.

Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang announced this move without giving further details on Thursday (Dec 12) in their opening remarks at the 19th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in Tianjin, China.

The annual forum is the highest platform for both countries to review areas for bilateral cooperation, and Mr Wong and Mr Ding are co-chairing it for the first time.

Since late July, China has resumed the 15-day visa free facility for Singaporeans travelling to China on ordinary passports for business, tourism, family visit, and transit purposes.

The arrangement was previously suspended for more than three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Too early to say that it will happen. Earlier this year the departing Chinese ambassador requested for reciprocal visa-free entry for Chinese in exchange for resuming our 15-day visa-free access to China. Nothing happened of her request, but Singaporeans received the 15-day visa-free access. Visa-free entry for Chinese is unprecedented, so SG better consider this thoroughly.
