Is it roll out to all or in stages? I'm not seeing it yet, my phone should be able to support it. Pocophone F1.

with VoLTE, i don't experience drop calls anymore today in my office. Before that, every calls that I made on 3G network will experience call drop every few seconds and was forced to use WA call but WA call isn't that smooth at time too.

at the dialer, key in *#*#4636#*#*, phone information under IMS service status, see if "Voice over LTE" is shown as Available or Unavailable.

If not wrong, Xiaomi can always dial *#*#86583#*#* to enable VoLTE if I remember correctly.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'm on a custom A14 rom, so it's possible that it's a rom problem. Will try to troubleshoot or else just upgrade phone.

The 86583 command fails silently, and 4636 shows that IMS is not registered.

Did some testing using my phone and another phone S20FE which has a Giga SIM.
Upon swopping the Giga SIM card to my phone, I could get VoLTE. It shows up with the letters HD on the signal bars. Using the 4636 command, IMS shows registered and VoLTE shows available.
The 20FE with the Vivifi SIM card also showed the VoLTE logo.

Upon swopping back to the Vivifi SIM card, my phone no longer shows the HD letters. So VoLTE capability is functional, but there's still something incompatible going on.

Well at least I know Giga works (and Eight by extension), if I can't make any headway with Vivifi CS, will just port out.

VOLTE finally enabled..
So, if IMDA shut down the 3G network without extension on 1 Aug (which imo they should have done), Vivifi users would have had to wait 3 weeks before they could make calls?

Wouldn't they have been fined?

They delayed it because of the extension announcement

There were no indications of the announcement landing, so to front facing customers it looks bad they did not even try.

it was extended
The question is a hypothetical - hence the "if".

It's an observation given that ZYM started rollouts at least 2 weeks before the deadline, whereas Vivifi did not do anything at all.

In a world where action speaks louder than words, I posed a hypothetical to posit the possibility that Vivifi may not have followed through to do the right thing for its own customers, and that is quite a problematic position to begin with.

custom rom no more 86583 as it is specifically meant for Xiaomi rom only. 4636 shows IMS not registered means no VoLTE is enabled. Need to google to see how to turn on VoLTE for custom rom.

the issue is the custom rom. last time when I was using Oneplus also need to tweak here and there to enable VoLTE. Most custom rom don't support VoLTE in fact.

The issue is not with the custom rom per se, because VoLTE works fine with a Giga SIM card. That means VoLTE is already enabled on my custom rom, but there may be some specific setting regarding IMS Registration. For example, I noticed that the Vivifi SIM card doesn't store my ported number (Giga's does). So, if IMS Registration just doesn't happen with Vivifi, I'll switch to a provider using the Starhub network instead.

Did you restart your phone? Just checking...

Anyway, I'm on Zym since late July. All the extra roaming + lower price for 5G plan ($15 for 100GB 5G + 8GB MY Roaming) just too attractive. VoLTE is active the moment I got ported over. 5G was enabled a day or two later.

Btw, I did manage to port over directly onto roamsmart 5g plan at their physical store, just FYI.

wah you port from Vivifi the $15 plan got 5G? thought their FB say only "port-ins from networks not including Singtel, Gomo, Heya, CMLink, Zero1, and Vivifi"

Or is the trick to port over at a physical store haha

Yeap!

Is 5G on Singtel network very fast and responsive, even with the lower MVNO prioritisation?

I was from Zym, but ported to Vivifi to take advantage of cheaper roaming packs. So there's not really a reason to stay with Vivifi. Especially as Zym, Eight etc have very well-designed websites which in SG is usually an indication of technical capability and adequate prioritisation of technical support.

I can vouch for Zym's responsiveness. But maybe that's why the roaming packs were more expensive. :o
