The discounted subscription fee of VIVIFI Roam Value plan at $6.80 per month for 12 calendar months from the month of SIM activation will only apply if a customer successfully makes a payment of $49.90 for 1 year subscription of the bundled Norton 360 Premium service within 14 days of submitting the order.

comparing to roam value plan, sgd7.70.

PLUS 20 is sgd11.50 with only 50gb data. actually what is the difference for this plan comparing to roam value plan?
is it becos it comes with 5G? but lesser data by half. and price wise is sgd3.80 more.

late by 3 weeks until I see this
other than 5g and unlimited (heavy throttled) differences mentioned by others

the difference is "no excess local charges" ... it means when you hit 300min talktime it end abruptly ...... while unlimited plan send you sms warning when 90% of talktime quota and start billing at dunno 15 or 20+ cents per min
it matters for seniors who don't understand the english sms and sometimes outgoing phonecall 1-2 hours to other senior friends when forget about home phone free unlimited outgoing .... some people maybe not in good health cannot afford talktime cut during emergency

just came back from Malaysia trip and saw Vivifi charge me for incoming roaming call. Lucky small amount, and it was on my parents line (I have them on my Share plan). We primarily use WhatsApp for calls and messages, so that probably helped but curious what I can do to block incoming calls over mobile network when roaming?

I thought maybe can turn off the Global Roaming, but that means cannot use roaming data too right? So we don’t want that, since they need data for their WhatsApp.

If they make/receive calls using VoWiFi or VoLTE (in Malaysia), is it just the same like regular mobile calls charges? Or is it free like SIMBA?

Any other tips, especially for elderly who may not be as savvy, when it comes to avoiding or minimizing roaming charges? Thanks.

Why don’t you consider eight mobile, no fear of receiving, rejecting and making calls when overseas. Also making overseas calls from SG all included in $8 plan.

No fear because of the included 288 IDD minutes? Does that mean they can make and receive calls while roaming and it would not be an extra charge?

Eight won't charge anything extra that you are not entitled to. If $8 means $8, anything extra you can voluntarily add on then enjoy the respective benefits.

I had a similar case with Vivifi as well, my sim card wasn't even in my phone when I was overseas in Japan yet I was charged a few bucks for overseas roaming incoming call. They checked and verified that I did pickup a call but sadly there was no way to prove that I didn't even turn on the sim card. Their practice quite shady if you ask me.

As I shared in this thread last month, Vivifi charged me for Global SMS supposedly sent to a 2nd World country, which I did not make. I also did not do any iMessage or Facetime activation which would result in SMS sent out automatically from iOS. There was also nothing registered in my sent Messages to suggest that this took place.

After a slow month-long ding-dong with them, they came back and said that according to their investigation, I did sent the Global SMS, and even suggested that my phone was infected with malware.

Even though after I gave a retort and in the end they unwillingly "waive this charge OUT OF GOODWILL", this has prompted my intention to leave them soon.

I had a similar situation with circles.life a couple of months back which made me leave them and go to Vivifi. Sad to hear that they're also like them... wish there was a way to block call/text and just allow data

if the phone is not new (a few years old), you can turn off VoLTE. data and sms will work, just no send/receive calls.

this method won't work for new phones where VoLTE is automatically turned on, and there is no option to turn it off.

Just to highlight when you are overseas with Eight, only local Eight can call you.
I tried with M1 and Zero1 both unable to receive.

When this was brought up in the Eight thread, I was questioned which planet do I come from. And suggest me to use WhatsApp instead.

Too many fanboy in that thread. Haiz....

Despite having, 100 GB of data, and 2 GB of data for MY roaming, Vivifi chose to deduct from the Roam 14 of 3 GB, which was meant for more countries.

Therefore, if one has the intention of visiting other countries, after MY. Then will be left with no more data, after the Roam 14, 3 GB data was being used up.

Read from the thread of ZYM, the deduction was from the 100 GB.
