"My MNP status is now showing as "Failed". What do I do next?

If your previous MNP request failed due to eg. wrong details being submitted or if you have contacted your existing Telco to resolve the outstanding issue, you may trigger the MNP request again by logging in to your VIVIFI account and selecting Manage > Number Change."

contact vivifi CS if need

I need a referral code, pls pm me

Edit: did any of you choose home delivery? Is there a need to show the subscriber IC to the courier, even though it's stated to have it?

I opted for self-collection. Just have to ensure that the activation date is within 30 days from the signup date, or else there will be a penalty charge

Showing NRIC is a standard form of verification for telco line sign up to prevent false sign up due to identify theft.

Imagine if someone has a soft copy of your NRIC your knows your current mobile number and go and sign up (with request for port in existing number), without verification that person can easily get hold of your mobile number. After which, with access to SMS OTP it’s game over for the services you use.

Home delivery I suppose they will only deliver it to the address stated in the NRIC? If yes then it’s still somewhat ok. Somewhat is because some courier will just leave it at doorstep instead of passing to the person, which is technically not the right way as someone else can loot it. But if it can be delivered to any home address then it’s a cause for concern.

For the self collection at collection point still require NRIC to activate the SIM card on the spot, so there’s a safety measure.

With so many MVNOs, this security step is moot nowadays. I've experienced various home delivery MVNOs that don't verify IC at doorstep, they just drop and go.

If that paranoid, just get a second number and use that exclusively for financial matters and don't expose it anywhere else.

Sometimes when you call help desk or support have to hold on to the call for a long time, so it’ll be nice to surf on 4G to do other things on your phone while waiting.

Good point.

Maybe I am privileged. I usually use my fixed line to call banks and hospitals that take very long to answer. Partly to make sure I don't exceed talktime. Partly because I need to access the calender on the phone and I don't like to toggle.
