for vivifi sim card delivery, is it a must for me to be around to receive? or i can ask them to just drop it inside my mailbox?
I just signed up for Vivifi recently and the email sent to me did state this:

Step 1: Getting your SIM Card(s)

- Home Delivery

  • Track it after 2 working days via xxxxxxx
  • NRIC/ID not required to receive the SIM Card.
  • Letter of authorisation not required for receiving the SIM Card on behalf.
The courier just delivered my SIM yesterday, and they passed the envelope to my mum without any need for authorisation letter or ID, just as stated in the email.

better self collect and it is free.

https://help.vivifi.me/hc/en-us/articles/360047328834-Home-Delivery-

Why is there a need for someone to be there physically to receive the SIM?

As part of regulatory requirements, VIVIFI needs to ensure that the SIM is delivered to the right person applying for the SIM before it can be activated. Thus, a verification of the ID needs to be done.

this differs from the email sent to me. this is confusing whether ID verification is needed.

if my gomo billing starts on 12 Jan 2022, i should portout to vivifi on 13?

u should port out before ur existing mVNO charges u for a new month of subscription.

like giga will bill me on 1 jan 2022, i need to ensure my vivifi is activated and no porting process started before 31 dec 2021 to avoid giga charging another month of subscription before it is not refundable or pro-rated.

Note that port out may fail if it occurs within 3 days of billing. I think this was what I kena before.

better not to wait until last min then port out. Safer even better to do it at least more than one week before which I did it now also.

don't be so cheap... port out 1 week before billing date if using mvno...

some mvno require min 2 billing before port out... eg RedOne, Circle Life etc. etc

if fail due to wrong info at least can try again

if using direct telco port anytime as they will pro-rated

I ported out quite early on actually, at least 7-10 days in advance. But dunno what happened between CMLink and Gomo coz for 2 working days, nothing happened. Then another few working days was spent ding-donging with Gomo and CMLink. In the end, I think the CMLink people gave up and cancelled my portover lol. CMLink said Gomo reject but Gomo said everything ok on their end haha.

Anyway this was a one-off experience. Porting from Gomo to Vivifi was smooth.

i used giga before ... defo not better than singtel network .. but coverage is better to m1

I have a close friend using Giga. She frequently say her clients complain can't hear her during phone calls. And can't get calls inside lift.

So when I was inside the lift n called her (on Gomo then) she was shocked HP can use inside lift.

ic. So far I have no issue with the porting. I have done the porting from Singtel -> M1 -> MyRepublic -> giga -> vivifi (still waiting) all within less than one month to months they were all ok and smooth.

seems like gomo is the one that has may cause probs sometime? Seems to hear more about them on this so far in this forum.

I activated the vivifi after 6pm yesterday, by rite today 11pm will have porting started. shall see if it happens. Although some faq said that porting does not happen on weekend but my experience in the past told me that it is not the case. My previous porting of MyRepublic mobile line completed on Sunday. Hopefully no special case for public holiday.
