Wow why so technical here.

Anyway I doubt Singtel can directly change it like that also. Need IMDA approval I guess. They went through some tender process and allocated some spectrums for 5G bands doubt can just switch over like that even though it's operating in the same range.

But LTE still operating also eh... I doubt LTE will be phased out that soon. Maybe another 7-10 years? 2G phased out in 2017, 3G end of July 2024 so LTE phase out should be long way to go.
haha, seeing few technical discussions in SG forums. I've seen more discussions for US tele-comms on reddit, and Chinese ones on some Chinese forums.

Would be interesting to see a comprehensive deployment of 5G network in SG. For example, SG 4G spans on multiple frequency ranges, from 900 MHz to 1800, 2100, 2500 and 2600. But current 5G is only on 3500 and partially 2100.
But for the US, they have from 600 MHz to 1700, 2500, 3500, and even to mmWave 26000 MHz.
Would be interesting to see a more comprehensive 5G network.

Checked with Vivifi on volte implementation but they just give a vague answer that it will be automatically enabled after 31 July.

Makes me feel unsure how the rollout will be smooth or not, feel like porting to Eight $8 plan if they screwed up this volte rollout.

You worried for what? It's a certainty it will happen.

I have the same thoughts, and yes considering the $8 plan also. I also wrote in to clarify, especially because my work phone with Vivifi (Pixel 6a) is strangely not listed on their compatible devices list.

If anything, I am guessing that Singtel will only enable it at the last minute for all its MVNOs. Perhaps there's a cost concern, or perhaps they are just trying to make life difficult. But in any case, if it's not enabled in time, I will have to port out. I use this line for work (cos cannot claim), and in the nature of my work we place a lot of calls to clients. I'd rather lose the Singtel coverage than to lose the ability to receive and place calls.

These delays in assurance do not help decision making.

I really worry about the roll out process of this feature. Don't know if MVNO's have any chance/time to do testing if ST enables last minute.
Besides VoLTE, there is also a need to implement USSD over LTE. USSD is used when you set call forwarding, call waiting or other short code dialing (like *100#, *1288#, etc.). Currently when setting call forwarding on ST MVNO, phone still falls back to 3G to do it. If they only implement VoLTE but forget to do USSD over LTE, although not everyone uses this feature, there will still be trouble.
