For roaming only comparison: Vivifi/Zym/Zero1 > Giga > Eight > Hi/Gomo > Simba. My experience with Simba is mixed as I get disconnected frequently & finally gave up.

Using both Hi and eight at batam, I think eight is not very good. Lose to Hi in terms of coverage and signal

In this case you are right as Eight's Indonesia roaming partner is Indosat whereas Hi is Telkomsel & XL. Telkomsel is the only choice for Tier 2 cities & outside Java.
