package actual weight is 8.6kg volume weight is 16kg..

normally they give me repack to 12kg but this time they say cant repack. I already prove to them that i got similar package that had been able to repack yet they still say cant...
The repacking option is bullshiat. Its basically, if the package is done like amazon, where they put the original item box into a bigger amazon box together with few other items, and the original item box is big enough to contain everything, they will put up the repacking option.

I ordered a laptop and pedegg from amazon. Volumetric weight is 11kg, repack until 3.5kg. I asked the customer service helpline whether they will open up the laptop box, they said no. In the end, it arrives as the laptop box itself, with the pedegg stuffed into the box. How retarded are they? Lucky my laptop still functions.

vPOST woes...

Been using vPOST for a while and it has been rather positive but with my most recent purchases, they seem to have messed it all up.

The product have reached them at 10AM 2Nov but until now there is ZERO updates on their recipient of the package. (It is a AD700 from Amazon)

Ordered the Apple iLife 11 from the US Store (sent on Oct22, delivered by Oct27) It has no tracking number as it was standard shipping and guess what, until now Nov3, there is ZERO update from vPOST. Their CSO keeps saying they need a tracking number and proof of delivery to be able to do anything...

Patience is running thin with vPOST!!!

I think the people at the call centre dont have the full details. I have talked to them before. They only can tell me what i already know from the vpost webby. To make things worse, the status don't update after payment. I think only the ppl at the operations will know what is the true status. It will take a few days for the issue to escalate to them. I am also still waiting for them to get back to me on my invoice problem. Did you call their call centre or send the enquiry form?

Anyone used the Buy-For-Me option? Do I key in the price before discount code or after? Asking since CGW will charge me 5% of the bill as payment for the service. Also, how fast do they usually revert back with the order?

Thanks!

Their tracking system also CMI. Status don't reflect accurately. I got a suprise delivery today even when the last updated status say it depart from airport last night. Skipped custom and reached my place. Haha.

Same experience. I also dont understand their process - I paid for 5 packages at the same time but looks like it will take at least 3 separate deliveries. Seems rather inefficient. It is also annoying that Amazon sends out multiple packages for one order. I wonder if they consolidate better for direct overseas shipment.

I agree with amazonfreak. I have been shipping stuff regularly since about 07 and so far Borderlinx has provided the best experience. I would switch permanently, but unfortunately Borderlinx can be a bit anal about restricted items (cleaning fluid, etc, although they have become more relaxed about batteries recently).

Comgateway is run by incompetent morons. They sent me someone else's spree package, then had the nerve to ask me to fill up the DHL airwaybill for them to rectify their mistake.

More recently, their server had some problem and kept giving me this stupid "We are unable to charge your card successfully" message, even with different credit cards. By the time I was able to make payment, storage charges were incurred. I contacted their customer service, and no explanation, no "sorry that our server is bull**** and you had to spend hours trying to pay us money for a service we provide", just "we will not be able to refund this amount incurred for storage fee back to you".

Vpost is even worse. Send them email explicitly stating which package is which also they can match wrongly. They can lose your packages after recording delivery, then backpedal and say they never received it and tell you if there's no signature proof then they are not responsible so too bad. Charges are terrible also.

Comparing CGW and BL std rates, it seems that if I based a package solely based on 6kg (example), CGW will come to $11 + ($2.85 x 5) = USD$25.25 and BL will cost USD$42.42? In that case, does it mean that for bigger item, CGW is cheaper than BL? thx.

Your calculation is incorrect. CGW's pricing is very deceptive - it's per HALF kg, so for 6kg, first 0.5kg = $11, subsequent 5.5kg = 5.5x2.85*2 = $31.35. Total $42.35. Borderlinx is usually very slightly more expensive than CGW, but you must also take into account discount codes - Borderlinx has been giving 30% off for quite a while, whereas CGW has only been giving 5% discount for almost a year.

Do I key in the price before discount code or after?

You should key in the price after discount. That way if the discount code expires or something funny happens the order will be canceled. You should consider Borderlinx instead, though. Their concierge service is free for orders greater than US$50 and they currently have a 30% discount code (730317) for shipping. I've used both Comgateway and Borderlinx concierges, and in my experience they are generally slow and inefficient. Expect them to take about 4 days or more. (Or worse, wait 3 days, then cancel your order because the merchant's site happens to be under maintenance then ask you to re-enter the order, because they are fricking geniuses.)

I've used it recently. You key in the price after discount code. From my experience it takes ~3 days to process your order.

It all depends.. but the website claims it's within 24hrs. I had one order from Macy's that was completed within 24hrs (i submitted the buy for me option on sat 23rd Oct and they processed on the 24th a sun)and another also from Macy's (different ocassion) that even after 36hrs still not processed. At the 36th hr the stock was still available at Macy's but sometime later they replied that the could not complete my order cause it had been out of stock by then.

so my shipment from ebags just reach my cgw address...

actual physical weight is 1.38kg
volumetric weight is 3kg (i was expecting 2kg, dhl shipment was listed as 4lbs)

should i request for a re evaluation or just fork out the money? i see some people here with even worse cases, 1.38kg but quoted shipping cost for a 10kg 'volumetric' weight parcel.

also first time shipping with my cgw account and i'm using my dbs (debit) mastercard but i don't get the 20% off promotion that i'm supposed to be entitled to...no discount code to use too.

1.38 vs 3kg is not a significant difference.
I had a package with CGW that was 1.5kg actual vs 9kg volumetric weight. If the diff is more than 3kg between the 2, they will offer you "repacking" at a US$7 fee.

I just started using vpost this month and found the service is really damn slow. they took 4-5days to process my vCONCIERGE orders. end up i have 1 order went out of stock 2 times. now im waiting for the 3rd time for them to process again. wats worse, i've ordered n paid for my EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI Motherboard hoping it arrive the same time as my SILVERSTONE ST1500. end up only my PSU arrive after 14days of waiting. i called them up and the lady said the order has been cancel due to merchant doesn't ship freight forwarder's address and they will do a refund. come on. they should have email me in the first place n tell me about it. n this freaking refund takes ard 2-3weeks to process. i was so damn piss off. i still have 2 EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 580 still waiting for shipping bill, ts been 10days already. not to mention i have to find other webby that sells the mobo that i wan. i dont know bout the other similar companies that do this but thank god i still have a number to call to chase them.

They should reflect in 2 working days but if they don't by tomorrow, do contact their live help for assistance to find your package. Get ready your sender information and the domestic shipper - USPS, UPS, DHL, etc.
