Yeah. I still remember the GW Plaza Sing Buy 3 get 1 free offer.

I remember i bought my first ever boxset is the Undead Skeletons warriors at $27, that was in 1997. I thought its already quite pricey liao. LOL.

This is quite a pricey hobby to begin with.. and wait till u want those Forgeworld stuff!

Why the sudden craze for nids these days? LOL..

Can i ask? Is there such a thing as a Chaos Daemon Battleforce set? I'm kind of liking them as much as the Nids(especially the daemon prince!). however cannot find using yahoo XD

Unfortunately no.

For the Demons, there was the Spearhead: Which is essentially a "sneak preview" for the eager players as this was released 1-2 weeks prior to the official release. There is no additional savings from buying this set since the Premium is that you get to play with these shiny toys 2 weeks before the rest of the world.

Since Daemons is a long released book/army, there is no longer such premium. Also FYI, GW has terminated any more Spearhead releases ( its not hard to see why,...since most people don't mind waiting it out).

Daemons is a mixed bunch:

Demonettes and Bloodletters are plastic while Horrors and Plaguebearers are metal (hence pricey)

I collect all of them because i use them for playing and since the fantasy and 40k demons are the same, essentially you collect 2 armies for the price of one!!!

Wow man, the Trygon is one of my dream tyranids that won't be coming true anywhere in the near future. It's damn expensive hahaha!! The Barbed Heiriodule as well.


I guess that i'll be ordering the Tyranid Battleforce somewhere in May from maelstromgames. Is there any custom taxes or whatever stuff i need to pay when it gets here? Also you guys know where to buy cheaper sets of citadel paints? But i still having problem deciding which scheme to do on my nids XD

Oh yea i also saw BitzBox.com U guys got order anything from there? Cuz i probably may order Tyrannid body parts to use with the extra weapons that come along with the Battleforce.

Thanks for the Deamon info. Maybe I'll just buy the daemon prince solo since he's so cool looking.

Then i may have good news for you. There is rumour that a plastic Trygon is going to be released in the future. As an example, the plastic Valkyrie that is going to be released in the upcoming IG release used to be a Forgeworld only item.

As long your purchased does not go beyond SG$400 per parcel, if not 7% GST applies.

Citadel paints cheapest is still from Maelstrom, Vallejo paint works the same as Citadel and they are cheaper.

If you looking for bargains, you can try Bartertown or Warseer. I trade/sell/buy from this 2 sites for about 5 years. So far no problem but its entirely based on trust. Ebay is safer in a way.

Hey Shadowrazor, its a nice and complimentary colour scheme.

One comment though, did you use the paints straight from the pot? Because from the closeups, it looks like the coats are quite thick.

Otherwise its really cool looking nids!

And GW purist will argue with you on the term Hive Fleet Kraken as the hive fleet have specific colours . (if you have the Codex, you will know what i mean).

I have added more colour to my Biel Tan Wraith Lord.

Lol, yea I did paint out of the pot, mostly anyway. I mixed colours around, was I not supposed to? But for colours like black, they have to be concentrated or they won't be able to cover right? Especially if you're painting over black itself

Love the black details on the carapace those nids and the green shade of the blade. I'm also waiting to see more progress of that wraithlord, looks promising too.

I'm thinking of changing into Tau as the battleforce contain more stuff than the tyranid ones XD, especially that huge ship. BTW where to get those tiny magnets that i see people are using to magnetise their tau cisis suit or carnifexes?

You can get them easily from Ebay. Not sure if local hobby stores has them though. You can try calling PI at Midpoint orchard.

No problem with mixing colours. What i meant was that when you said Hive Fleet Kraken, bone coloured nids with red carapaces come to mind. Its like Ultramarines= Blue.

Actually not that true. It depends on the opacity of the paints. Which is why as you can see from my Wraithlord, i based it in white because painting white over black is a tedious process.

The reason why i commented on using paints from pots is that initially it will be fine because it is usually diluted a bit but as you use more paint, the paint dries (evaporation etc).

Many thin coats of paint >>> 1 thick coat of paint.

PI has got a few of those Rare-earth magnets. They cost 0.50 per piece.

BTW: Wahts the diff between Glade Grass and Static Grass from Citadel? I presume the former is the greener type

Hmm not too sure if there is a Static Grass category. They are all static grass. The glade grass is all green ones, so when flocked, looks like a football pitch.

There is a scorched grass (i think), where some of the grass is brown mixed with the green, that appears more natural.

I dun like the look of static grass. They look very plastic to me.

I prefer using dry lock and drybrush them accordingly.
