I checked with PI they don't seem to have it.Do you guys have any other advice for me in choosing whether i should go for a set or buy paint in another way(such as another paint set available locally)? Cause i want to try to avoid buying the paint set from maelstrom if possible in place of a Tau Sky Ray set due to limited funds in my Paypal account.

EDIT: Hey have anyone of you guys got a closeup of a soul grinder before? How tall is that giant?

Hope GW will do a Adeptus Mechanicus army. They have all sorts of weird weapons and units.

I thought the Knights Paladins were of Pre-Heresy era, not sure if they still exist in 40k.

I ordered my Daemon army! Too bad i missed the Sale by one day! Damn paypal mooney took so long to reach!! Will be posting once i got it and finished building the lot. (I bought Daemon prince, SoulGrinder and Bloodletters)

Umm hey guys what do you do before you put on the colours of the minis? What do you use to prime/undercoat it so that the paint sticks better ( for metal & plastic)?

A good and basic question. hehe...

I just undercoat with black. No primer or anything similar. My understanding of using primer is that it holds the paint better.

Is using primer necessary? Anybody can advise?

Hmm bit busy and havent had time to check this board for sometime...

Anyway the Steg i took about 1 week to paint (although probably 24 hrs in total time).

Been working on Some temple guards for the upcoming tournament.

Its supposed to be similar to the box art for them..


Also i finished a commission Hordes miniature for a friend..

new to the thread

hi all, i'm new to this thread. I've been looking and looking for an active online forum in singapore about warhammer 40k stuff and finally found this one... what a relief.

some background about my warhammer 40k experience:

1) i saw the models at comics mart when i was buting comics, i was an still an A level student and was curious as to what it's all about.

2) When i started working on 2002 i started visiting the stores like comics mart and PI and bought and painted a space marine (1500-2000pts) and IG (1500pt). I went to PI, got to know the ppl and played only 1-2 games but found it difficult because of long game play and location (sat and sun orchard is crowded and expensive to park).

3) i sold off my armies for some reason in 2005-6. Been inactive since then.

4) I'm trying to pick up again now. building a new IG army of desert catachans!! but with HEAVY proxying... hehe. I'm using a lot of china army men toys (dirt cheap plastic but good molds) and converted to include in my army (i've got a basilisk and a chimera this way)

So if you wanna play table top pls give me PM or email me at o_pin@hotmail.com. I hope you all can accept proxying, as you know models in singapore quite ex. also i know lots of changes since 2003 so bear with me cos i've forgot everything but wanna learn.

Also i've been reading the thread, i think the problem in singapore is that we depend too much on the shops to offer playing spaces. I'm a firm believer in the idea that we should play the game at home so that its more personal and not intimidating. So i may offer my home for those who want to play.

Hi Suhaimi, actually there are alternative venues around. There is a place where someone's condo is used for gaming but a club fee is charged (as far as i know). Also some of the players use our homes for gaming sessions as well.

While i agree that gaming at home is more personal, there are downsides to this.

We must face the fact that GW Gaming is a niche hobby, i do not think there are close to 200 players in Singapore.

By gaming at home, you are losing the social aspect of finding new players through the gaming community (which no surprises...hangs out in stores). No doubt it is more cosy...there is NO promotion of the hobby and with no promotion of the hobby = No new gamers. It ends up as a vicious cycle.

Anyway just as a point, in UK, most GW stores do not provide adequate gaming space. Most gaming space are from locally formed clubs (which charge for membership/overhead fees)

Lastly, at least in PI now, we have a table booking system and dedicated days for different gaming sessions (Eg Warhammer Fantasy is on Sat). Also usually weekdays the tables are less likely to occupy and you can always enquire beforehand to make sure you do not make a wasted trip down.
