nice that you share the comparison!
but he's asking aw versus its cellular variant ma!![]()
Depends actually, I like to run light so I don’t carry hp or anything while i run. If your purpose of the watch is to make call during emergency, say you fell down into the drain at night while running and nobody can see you and u need to make a call or u suddenly got heart attack or stroke or feel unwell and need to make an urgent call, then the cellular function is a must.Good point on the phone part, I don’t like carrying phone while running.
So basically the non cellular version is pretty much useless if you are running without an iPhone, yea?
No need to buy the Fenix 6, i made a mistake bought an expensive with overkill function. Just get the latest Forerunner 245, cheap and good and light ... if running and sports is your main purpose of getting a watch, get this over AW. If fashion is what u want, u want something nice on your wrist, then get AW.I’ll check Garmin out, thanks for the recommendation!
Any way for Apple Watch to prompt you if your heart rate is too fast?
Any way for Apple Watch to prompt you if your heart rate is too fast?
Yes, it often happened if I drank too much alcohol during meals.![]()
During run or activity Nope !
Not in Apple Watch. I am still waiting for some Apple experts to correct me ...
Apple Watch only have a function to prompt u of high heart rate during rest, that is after 10 mins of inactivity, then your HR reach a certain HR that you set, then it will prompt you.
But during activity, NO !
That’s why i said AW is not good as a running or exercise sports watch, it’s for fashion.
For the above function, the Garmin Fenix 6 have !
Ok sure, I will help you ...May I ask which function are you referring to in Garmin?
I just got a 245 music but not familiar with the functions so far. Please enlighten me ... quite important for the watch to alert us when HR too high during runs.
Ok sure, I will help you ...
Actually Garmin can even alert you when during activity your HR is low ... so that you buck up and start running ...
it’s long to explain but let’s do it step by step ...
First have you decide the range of the HR for the 5 zones ? Garmin can manually adjust the range of all the range for 5 HR zones ... u see basic thing like this also cannot even do in AW ...
Ok u set the above first in your Garmin, then i go to the next step ...
Before that, I assumed that have you download the Garmin Connect apps and paired it with your Garmin watch. If not, pls do that now.
Thanks

Don’t use the automatic, I think it’s based on the birthdate u input .... decide on the range for the 5 HR and change them (unless you happy with the default), then we move to the next stepYes downloaded garmin connect and paired. The Hr zones seems to be automatically set for me liao after I keyed in my age etc. Went for a 5km run today and it showed me the time I was in each zones.
yeah man ...Oops we may have been off topic by discussing Garmin in AW thread

Totally agree ... but unfortunately such basic thing, AW oredi Series 6 and dono how many updates liao, still cannot do this important thing and yet some of my AW fans claimed that AW is the leader in the sports watch ...![]()
Anyway not my intention to run down AW, just highlighting a fact that it cannot do this important function.
Thanks
