Anyone knows why when I use the Nike run club or strava app on my iphone to record my runs but both doesn’t record heart rate even though I wore my Apple Watch? Must the tracking be done on the watch then can record heart rate?

Guys, say if I bring out my AW only and have to do safe entry. Any solutions? I don’t want to be bringing out any ID or phone.. that is one of the reasons for buying an AW to replace Iphone when exercising, etc. Thanks!

Of course you have to wear your watch to detect your heart rate leh ...

Without the watch, if you just use the NRC app or Strava app off from your hp, how is the app gonna detect your heart beat without the watch ?

Edit: Oh you wore your watch ... then the HR should appear ... do you start the run from your watch ?

I didn’t start the run from watch. I want to start the run from the phone app instead. I would expect the hr reading to be captured from the watch to the phone just like how Fitbit devices could.

The only scan it can do is Apple Pay via NFC.

I have a problem, the occurrence is getting more frequent and kinda fed up ...

I know when there’s a red dot on top of AW means there’s some message to read. Just slide down to read. Lately, i try to slide down and it can’t slide ... try to slide up oso cannot. (But can slide left !).

The only solution was to OFF and ON the AW back ... and it works ... but really frustrating to keep resetting leh ...

Anyone got any ideas or tips to resolve this ?

If i leave home without the phone, with just the watch, technically i can still go into malls with driving license or nric for safe entry right?

I wanted the audio cue and I run while holding my phone on my hand so it's kinda easier to view and control the tracking from the phone rather than the watch itself. But mainly for the audio cues.
