anyone bought apple care for their watches before ?
just got my graphite ss from singtel on sunday, today screen got several scartches liao
i accidentally bump into the railing inside the sbs bus not hard, but i also wonder why this "sapphire so easy to scratch.
innitialy thinking to return it to singtel, but since they have no stock, then maybe it's better for me to buy apple care,
wear thisone for few months, then break it and exchange to new one ?
Screen shouldn’t scratch so easily, but it could be the coating on the new ones… did you try rubbing it off?

I thought the set has to be checked by Apple before they approved your AppleCare

each exchange also need to pay $118 I think

I recall no need to be check by Apple but I could be wrong. I decided to get AC+ since day 1.

Omg this is misinformation. Both SS and Hermes SS are EXACTLY the same. Both front and back are using the SAME sapphire glass. Nothing is different material wise. The differences are the additional Hermes Watch Face and straps.
Hmm ok I’m not really sure if what she said is true. Can’t find anything online that confirms it but neither I can find anything that says they are the same as well. But the Watch do feel noticeably heavier vs previous gen stainless steel Watch. Not sure if it’s just series 7.

What the SA said to u is not true. I had been using Hermes Apple watch before Titanium available for Apple watch. It's the same SS version except for Hermes watch face, Hermes strap and 2 years warranty instead of 1 year for normal SS models. When TItanium available for Apple watch, I bought TItanium and no longer Hermes as I like Matt finish instead of SS glossy finish.

I only know iPhone need to be checked
I think iPhone need to run a diagnose tool.. When the test pass then can proceed to buy. It can be done at home thru the phone with the Apple customer service guiding us thru the phone.

thats why i'm quite confused, i checked all my previous watches before
original apple watch SS, no scratches at all
series 4 SS there's some scratches on the screen even though i always use it with rhinoshiled case
series 6 aluminuim suprisingly no scratches at all

now this series 7 , 2 days old, and i bump on to the bus railing also not hard, only a bit,
how to checked wheter its the screen or coating ?
and how to buff ?
i tired using water and microfibre and it's still there, even though i can't feel it with my finger nail, but under the sun i can see it.

😭

Apple told me I need to bring my phone down for a physical check as well.

To me, buying applecare for apple watch is a must have. Unlike phone, they dont really check for watch. They just do a 1 to 1 replacement. This is why the resale value is higher for apple watch which comes with apple care.
