I tested APP2 the anc not much diff, only bass a bit better thats all.

Have on-ear volume control also. Dunnid dig your phone to change volume liao.

The enhanced Find My function & speakers on the case also nice touch.

My honest opinion. If you're using first gen APP and really love using AirPods, the APP second gen is a MUST upgrade.

Maybe must test with train environment then can tell the difference, cos earlier i tested anc with only crowds so maybe not much of a difference.

ANC is a lot different, comparable to Sony's WF-1000XM4.

I gotta say the XM4 has overall better SQ vs APP1/APP2. But it just doesn't fit my ears. I tried the XM4 with multiple sized spinfit eartips in ConnectIT. It just feels heavy & gonna drop anytime if i start running (It's just me).

But I am a big fan of their WH-1000X series headphones tho.

Can always sell it or give siblings/close friends. (Provided they ok/want a pre-loved earphones)
