I haven’t owned a smart watch before but is thinking of getting an Apple Watch next year together with iPhone 16.

From an ease and value of resale perspective, will Apple Watch versions with cellular function be easier to resell? Would Ultra be harder to sell off?
Ultra more easy sell

Saw one guy when in JB Machine shop (Apple authorised dealer) yesterday.

That guy walk you and want to buy AWU 1.

I think good option for those want to own AWU but cheaper cost

RM 3300 is ard SG $970 based on YouTrip card 3.4 exchange rate. Quite good deal if they have stock given that the upgrade from AWU 1 to 2 is really incremental and insignificant for normal use.

Same for iPhone. Still using iPhone 12 and see no real needs to upgrade at all. Next year is iPhone 16. Maybe upgrade once every 5 years for iPhone. So upgrade when iPhone 17 if can last till then

It's good deal. As an AWU user, I see absolutely no reason to upgrade to AWU2. I can see myself using my AWU till uplorry as the temptation to upgrade smart watches is generally kept at minimal. The reason I upgraded from S7 to AWU is 80% due to the design change tbh.

I’ve seen those ang mos in Reddit most saying the upgrade will be significant as more neural cores means better performance and opens more opportunities for future proofing, blah blah blah….

I know the new U2 UWB chip is better for precicion finding and works with only 15 Pro series, but that’s a feature I don’t typically use also as with my AirTag. 64GB storage wise, I still have 24GB out of 32GB remaining on my AWU. :s22:

I suppose the real upgrade for AWU will be next year, or at least more significant upgrades than now. I don’t have anything lacking on my current AWU and watchOS 10 releasing at 1am tomorrow will give the AWU a boost.

So if I cancel AWU2 order this year, at least I save it for next year’s upgrade instead.

Definitely more significant. If this year I skip the AWU2, will also be the first time in my annual Apple Watch upgrade cycle since 2015, that I won’t be upgrading.

Any preowned watch will definitely not be as easy to sell vs an iphone imo. Personally I wouldn't buy preowned phones as I will buy new & use for many years to come (Unless got new design or super function that will poison me)

This year totally no feels. Upgrading is like sell Honda Civic (2022), buy Honda Civic (2023). New engine & maybe a little internal upgrade only. On the outside looks the same :ROFLMAO:
