It's time for all the current mods to be retired, and for new mods to be appointed. After I told a mod off (Ottoke), I got infracted four times WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS OR SO, for posts...which were deleted by him, so I don't even know what sins I had committed.

If I am such a bad edmwer, how does the honourable mod explain the thousand over LIKEs I received from SEVERAL members besides others who "laughed" because of my humour. The reasons for my infractions were just NONSENSE.

I am with IndianChief on this.
Surely if one has to state such a request, it probably means something is wrong, right? Why the heck would one need to specially make such a request, when obviously the purpose of this forum is to seek clarification for one's issues? Furthermore, I think such a request would be the last thing on one's mind when one is looking for proper support.

Also your proposed idea puts the person at risk of being accused of singling out or targeting another user. I truly doubt if this is really desirable.

He forgets that he is just an employee of SPH not its owner. The public has every right to question when things are not done properly. It defeats the purpose of having a forum for the general public when the public is subject to the whims and fancies of a salaried employee tasked with its management.

I may be wrong but that's his usual pattern. He cannot accept anyone questioning his authority. He is like that guy who takes umbrage at the slightest of things. Maybe he thinks just because his former boss can do stuff like that, its the same for everyone else in the company.

No need to underline your level of maturity.
If you write to any organisation, SPH included to make a complaint, their response is far more polite and informative than the replies by the said Administrator. They will show basic courtesy, provide some clarity and if they cannot accede to your request, they will state why.

So you don't know anything. To put it bluntly, kindly stfu.

They like to say use report button. But do they act on it consistently?
They are more likely to act if a) they themselves take umbrage or b) a few people who similarly take umbrage.
So if you say something anti-China - you can expect the pro-China to report and based on VJ's logic and reply to an earlier thread, the COMMUNITY decides -----------come I clap for him.

Not whether the content posted is worthy of sanction or not. I can give another example in a thread yesterday. Someone insinuated that the Pope has sex with a child. It was reported. The post is still there.

But if you call Liverpool Loserpool and Man Utd Manure, these gets deleted and the poster sanctioned.

There are many similar examples. What is there to press the report button, if one can insult the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion people and call him a paedophile and get away with it ? But it's serious offence to call football clubs based overseas names which fans in that country also use as part of banter and nobody bothers.

Well Vijay is but an employee of SPH and appointed to a position. I'm sure he understands that he is not above criticism for the manner he has done his job. Some may agree, but others like me have every right to disagree.
And it's based on a pattern of a dismissive attitude and an unwillingness to explain. If this were his Facebook page he has every right to lock, close delete and ban whoever he likes without reference.
But as a person given responsibility to administer a page that the general public takes part in, and whose revenue comes because sponsors etc, want to be where the public is at, he should be conscious of that.
The public have every right to ask hard questions and request, even demand explanations, without being brushed off like school going children.

Anyway let's get back to the point of this post. What is the view of the admin and mods to people coming to this feedback forum merely to rile up users who ask/appeal against infarctions? Why are they pursuing minor stuff but fail to see something so clear before their very eyes? And while a report may achieve part of that purpose, it's also clear that a report will not show the level of disgust that other users have had because of the actions of this user. Furthermore as I gave 2 clear examples where a report was made against something that if done on a page of any person in authority, would almost certainly attract serious looking into and possibly prosecution. You cannot make threats online and you certainly cannot cause insult to a religious figure of a faith that hundreds of thousands of Singaporeans adhere to.

These reports were not acted upon.

I have written to a few Ministers before making a request or for others. Or to share a point of view.
They all replied and almost immediately. Most reply personally, some through their PS or QSM.
Even the to PM. Although he didn't respond, the desired request was acceded - an appeal to stay the execution of a death row inmate, until further inquiries are made as to his clemency petition.
This I can understand because such an event - a pending execution, hundreds will write in if not thousands. It's impossible to respond to every email.

So I suggest our admin take note as to how to respond. Instead of just giving a reply that's neither here nor there, and immediately locking the thread. You are employees of an organisation, there should be a more proactive approach replying to concerns, appeals and issues raised. You represent the company, you do not own it.
