My verification is completed. Quite a breeze.

I can't send a red packet to my friend using WeChat that's linked to my YouTrip card. But my wallet is still linked to my YouTrip card.

Dun think we can top up any cash wallet. Can auto debit from card only.

Heard some Bros managed to use YouTrip or ICBC UnionPay cards to make payment there.

OCBC app can draw money via atm or pay via qr code in sg. I understand the article to mean it will be the same process in sg where we scan qr code using OCBC app to make payment in China.

Actually the TourCard in the Alipay app can also top up cash wallet? Anybody tried?

Going to China next month. Is there similar app like revolut or youtrip where you can top up RMB and spend? I notice can't top up wechat wallet without a Chinese bank card

I used this before covid... setup the account in Alipay app, given a Shanghai bank account. Just transfer $$ to it.
The account is valid for a certain period n will transfer the unused balance back.

Yes, going to try it. Good if they can accept local db card, and transfer money to it. At least can top up the cash wallet. Feels safer.

Still can use ocbc scan and pay as last resort.

I had this in 2020, Used it a little in China before Covid came up and the account closed after 90 days, and the remainder in the wallet was refunded.

Anyway to top up wechat/alipay using RMB cash?
I still have a couple thousand RMB in cash. Cash become like quite useless liao.
