Question. How do you deposit RMB into your china account?

Deposit hard cash (RMB) at the china bank itself?
Yes. Been doing that and depositing into my bank accounts. The limits can be waived if you deposit over the counter; otherwise the non-counter limits will apply. This will depend on the type of card you are holding and the bank’s own limits that they impose on you. Bear in mind the upper limit you can bring into China per pax, as mentioned above.

FYi I just receive notifcation from my AXS mobile app today now you can transfer money to Wechat and Alipay account using the app itself. Just choose Marketplace -> Remittance -> Aleta. From there you can choose UnionPay, WeChat or Alipay. It will show you the rate on the screen.

I have not try whether it works or not yet.

Update: Just tried like cannot work! :(

Most likely it will not work because you need a china IC to redeem the money. Just like some of us use wise to which can also send money to china. For any remittance you need IC validation.

Only way is to find a family member or friend who can help you, send to their alipay or wechat then ask them transfer to you later on.

This is what I shall do when the existing RMB in my China bank a/c start to deplete:

(1) Hand-carry RMB notes (limit: <= RMB20,000 per person) from SG to China, & deposit via at the China bank ATM
Note: there's daily limit of deposit & withdrawal at China ATM - can't remember whether it's RMB3,000 or RMB5,000 or ???

(2) Withdraw RMB notes from BOC/ ICBC ATM using Trust bank Debit Card, & then deposit into my BOC or ICBC AC at the same ATM. Trust bank currently does not charge any ATM withdrawal fees, but I'm not sure whether the China banks will charge or not.
I tried to TT SGD using OCBC and received SGD in full (no fees) into my ICBC account. from there I did a 结汇 and converted to RMB instantly. there's a annual USD 50,000 limit imposed for converting to RMB

Used to bring cash or go their ATM withdraw and deposit but this TT seems a better way!

By right, UnionPay cards issued outside of Mainland China can be linked to Alipay and WeChat Pay starting from 6 November.

I have disabled all payment controls for both my ICBC and BOC Singapore UnionPay cards, but both systems had errors when attempting to link both cards.

Anyone succeeded or failed in linking? How'd I fix this? Thanks!
I've added my BOC Singapore Unionpay card to wechatpay around October with no problem
Anyway Unionpay has its own App “Unionpay”, in Chinese called ”云闪付”, it has its own QR Payment system which is compatible with WeChat. You can add Union card to the App. BOC Unionpay Card has Dual Currency function, pay Chinese Yuan, So no FX conversion

I could link ICBC, but not BOC Singapore UnionPay cards to 云闪付. Interesting.

Yes, 云闪付 are unsupported for Taobao purchases, but it can be used on other purchases, not only for Taobao.
For TaoBao, you can use Unionpay card for the payment, just from the TaoBao paymentv Mode, Select Wechatpay, and from WeChatpayment selection, select UnionPay Card.

Which other online merchants and offline supports international cards linked to 云闪付 as a payment method?

云闪付 is widely used in Mainland China and support many online payment platform, because UnionPay is primary Payment card both online and Offline.
With 云闪付 "UnionPay" APP, you can even scan Wechat payment QR code for the payment.

last month i took a public bus in a small town in the northeast, and paid using alipay/youtrip/sg-phoneno/sg-roaming to scan a unified code similar to the one below, with 4 logos below the qr code (this one is from internet, not from the bus).

increasingly, all the different payment platforms' original individual codes are now inter operable and compatible, not just the newer unified code.

why do they list out the union pay and cloud flash pay logos separately ? i thought cloud flash pay is the payment app introduced by union pay ? or is it the consortium of banks under union pay have their own bank apps that can also scan ?

Only a guess, Unionpay here may only means its QR code, it already existed for few years, individual Bank App can Scan this QR code for the store payment.
While Cloud Flashpay App is like Googlepay which only can link Unionpay Cards, it can pay by NFC function if store has NFC terminal, So Ppl.no need to bring physical Card. of cause it also can Scan its QR code to pay.
