just added my wechat (SG +65 mobile) as recipient into DBS Remit.
pending 12hrs cooling period before i try remitting...
AliPay still cannot (restrict chinaholders only) but WeChat has open up!

Who can I send to?
You can send funds to Weixin (WeChat) users who are verified with one of the following identification documents:

• Mainland China Second-Generation Resident Identity Card
• Mainland China Permanent Resident Identity Card
• Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
• A passport, excluding passports issued by Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan

perhaps someone with SG passport holder but register wechat with +86 mobile,
see if there's a difference in terms of remit rates or functionalities.

my wechat is tied to +65, cos lazy to change +86 as it requires 2-3 days of migration. (wechat -> weixin)

Just now I successfully send $10 to WeChat that registered with +86 China number and select to send to bank account (opened with Singapore passport), but the rate is only 5.168.
Since the money is send to bank account, it can be used with no restrictions.

U referring to DBS remit? need min. S$101 to get "market" rate.
below S$100 is 5.16 only. very poor FX.

i just setup this. my last chengdu trip, both my alipay and wechat pay not working at one of the shop... then i have to scramble find a local pay them cash to top up my wechat pay wallet...

with this i need not worry liao!

Signed up with CP for the intention of usage at China. However, wasn't able to find any Alipay+ QR code. Most merchants only have normal Alipay QR code registered.

did a quick $10 testing. seems ok, though rates really lousy, lol.

on the 收款名片, my printed name got jumbled up by their system which seem to follow amdk given name last name sequence order. apparently did not cause any problem for transfer, as long as the recipient name/sg phone setup in dbs remit matches the passport verified name/sg phone on the 微信 side.
