they relied too much on Samsung providing them the processor last time, and with the on-going and pending more disputes with the patents and stuff in their mobile division. They are trying to rely lesser on samsung, turning to TSMC, but TSMC can't cater to all the orders, so they are splitting the thing, giving TSMC experience to cope with apple's order, as part of learning, with the rest supplied by sammy, therefore you got 2 suppliers now. That's what I think from reading from multiple sources.

When one supplier cannot keep up with the orders, you need to have another supplier that can make up the lost numbers.

Seriously speaking, on a normal day to day basis, the difference i believe is unnoticeable la. Who on earth runs those performance benchmarks apps on a normal phone usage basis? Just enjoy the phone and upgrade to a new one when the time comes.

actually doesn't matter la, mine has the T chip but will still go for exchange if anything happens to the phone, got warranty and if got apple care + = 2 years coverage, if got battery drain / heated up touch id just exchange lor

can imagine those with existing T chip don't wana utilize their warranty in fear of getting the samsung one

hmm the non plus version's battery isn't that great to begin with, and iphone 6 has 1810mAh, while the 6s is only 1715mAh
