if the start of your problems is indeed as per described in below thread, I will not be surprised if your GTX 980 is still working fine.

I sent my PC to service and tested out is the graphic card spolit and module on motherboard spolit too. My CPU is like less than a year.. if dusts accumulated at the cooling fan there and the fan not spinning fast enough to cool my GPU and it will burned it out?? Sent to ASUS service center and say this is not covered under warranty is that true?

back to this post you made in another thread, was it the same service guy who told you that he sent it to Asus service center and it is not covered under warranty?

it may not even be faulty, considering the only person who have determined that it is faulty is the service guy, whom we have already established to be not trustworthy.

Yeah, at this point, I would also check serial number just to be sure this joker actually returned the same exact card and didn't swap it out.

I have checked with Ban Leong and there is no record of people sending my GPU to their service center so mostly like this repairman sent to ASUS service center.

I have sent to Ban Leong Service Center again and they test stress my GTX980 and is working fine and no issue at all. The card is fixed back to CPU and is working fine now.

Thank god my GTX980 is fine. And I question the repairman why he say GPU is spolit where is not. He keep say GPU not working had give them 15% intermittent connection n power issue and i say now my GPU is working fine. He say then must be intermittent and it will die off again after several boot.

I will test the pc for a week and see it will die off again or not.

The GPU not working previously could be due to moving house and due to some shaking and GPU might came loose that why give problem as per another repairman(person who build my cpu) said that to me.

Asus service centre will not do anything with the GPU even if your service guy did bring it to them, they will just redirect him to the distributor, in this case Ban Leong. you are still so trusting, chances are your service guy did nothing with your GTX 980, an thought up an elaborate story to make some money off you, by selling you something that you don't need, and at an inflated price. unscrupulous, you really should name and shame this fellow.

The repair guy is called John and he is the boss of the company too.

Really disappointed even after questioning him he still can make up all kind of stories if he just want the one time business only and get blacklisted then really no word to say. However i can just count myself bad luck.

my cpu suddenly breakdown before CNY and i also urgently need it for work too so can only blamed myself too impatient and take it as a good lesson too.

You could have just used onboard video and plugged monitor directly to it..
