Im planning to go japan to try a job at one of the mncs! 😍😍😍 change life change pace so that we dun keep looking at money and think thats everything life has to offer!
WOW that’s cool! Japan can be a very different working culture though so best if it’s a less traditional mnc. Your family joining you for this and are they also conversant in Japanese?

hahaha my hubby’s contract will end next year. He is able to speak japanese and will be able to find a job there more easily as a software engineer.

if it is able to work out we will all leave together, including my kid.

The data is from a minister who has presided over thousands at their deathbeds.

I never said money is not important. I said Don't love it.

Let me ask you a question. If the love of money is the root of all evil, if you are the Devil, what will you do?
I was just thinking about what you said that it is stats from a minister I suppose there is some bias to that since Christianity frowns upon love of money. Doubt people would want to say that to the minister!

I have personally already had 2 instances of people saying they had regrets of not making more money in their lives. Not so much love of money but that it could have helped make the life of the family better. Younger kids left behind. Wife strugglesm didn't buy insurance etc.

It is more from a place of how not having more money would be hard for the ones left behind. Not so much for themselves.

Japan work culture has good work life balance? I thought last time many Japanese workers overworked and stressed? Suicides?

Can we agree that the incidences of people who at their deathbeds wished they had earned more money is perhaps just 10% and that 90% wished they could have spent more time with their loved ones?

Actually my experience is people tell me they have no regrets in life. They have lived a good life. Time to go. No longer want to suffer. Worried about the more suffering and pain to come.

Is more like 90% no regrets. 5% wish they made/planned for better finances. 5% wish they had better relationships with various family members.

So far no one said regret divorce their spouse etc.

But perhaps my cross section also has bias.
