I know of a multi millionaire died miserable cos his daughter wouldn’t visit him at his death bed.
He died with regret that he isn’t forgiven for not sending her to further her study overseas.

He died very wealthy but miserable.

Best is to leave this world with no regret and smiling that you have done your best for all your loved ones.

And what was his reason for not sending her to study overseas? Sound more to me like a case of self-entitled kid leh..

Singapore top 1% wealth is about USD 3.5m fyi.

i actually have more than 1.6m.

i didnt even realize it until this thread.

bec to me, my wife and 4 kids are at the forefront of my daily life.

i can name you all my kids best friends, and anything about my wife including her best friends, her dreams, aspirations, desires etc.

That user has some mental issues, family issues and an inability to discipline her kids. She open thread for suggestions but dont even take suggestions. N her threads arent even funny - it genuinely invokes concern for herself and her family.

she reminds me of my mom. Got money flaunt, give barbed comments to pple less fortunate and want to compare here n there.

But yes. Not saying discussion of wealth cannot be done, but not like this in absolute terms. Cos honestly her wealth is not a lot. I dont have her prestigious background but anyone could have reached hers n her hubby level of wealth easily if they were a boomer. My parents are not much older than her but their wealth is way further.

she could have asked for wealth opportunities instead. I think that will have been a more fruitful discussion.

i think real wealth is created by transactions. Btn ur frens family and clients. It builds u and creates value to society. Its the dream of defi btw - a place where transactions can be made without fiat to unlock value.

He was from China, very traditional and thinking was very old fashion / outdated …

Both his daughters he declined to send them overseas to further their study.

Even for his daughter in law, he almost stopped her in the midst of her study.

He tried brainwashed her that a woman place is in the kitchen /home.

His daughter in law stood her ground to finish her study with the help of her scholarship and part time work.

She didn’t receive a penny from him throughout her study.

But she didn’t take it against him. She returned to sg to honor and treated him like her own dad.

She hoped to help him to leave in peace by whispering her appreciation for his love for her family especially for her hubby whom he supported for overseas study at his death bed.
Else her hubby won’t be what he is without his support and Financial assistance.

He nodded in acknowledgment.

Always remember the good and positiveness of our loved ones.
This will help bond the family.

To live in negativity and grudges will eventually ruin your own life.
