conventional ones use the 3.5mm jack from the back of the computer

My JBL one uses USB from the computer to the speakers. Apparently when connected it auto installs some drivers or something and then sound magically appears out from the speakers from the computer 🤷‍♂️
It has a sound chip on it lor... to be honest if you connect to PC.. dun really need USB one.. even the most basic PC have sound output.. for my case I have my own soundcard...

Fuwell just halved its shop space.
I think it will just die very soon.
Sad to say, there are really not much options around at SLS.
Seems like the Challenger are offering more brands and choices instead.
My favourite store.... even I also bought my new PC from Dynacore this year.. not Fuwell like last time.

No wonder Altec Lansing and Cambridge Soundworks went bust, coz all never buy new one
Older equipments can last forever. Electronic these days can die easily so ppl will continue buying and changing every 2 years.

Fuwell is like pass time.
I think they will just have a clearance sale and close shop one day.
The other PC parts shops also like stale liao.
I think Best Bargain at one corner pass away liao.

If your desktop mobo is running the ALC12XX audio chipset, u dun really need an external DAC. It’s already very good. i got this on my mobo.

External USB DAC is good only if you have highend desktop speakers paired with a good amp. Otherwise, for cheap desktop speakers, u won’t really be able to hear night and day diff.

Hmm i intend to just get bookshelf speakers and not more than 1 item preferably.

I read good things about elac now
