on M1 here. if on screen ,reply will be fast. if off screen within 5 mins reply still comes in.if phone idle then have to manual check.but it might be also due to my 360 app that do auto task cleaning

I am on Singtel and no issue. Using JuiceDefender with every five minutes scheduled data connectivity on idle setting. Since JD cut off connectivity when phone on idle, maxinum delay for me is only 5 munites. Most of the time like no delay.

Woot, this is quite a good work around I shall say. Having Juice Defender to refresh the data connectivity :D

I'm a Galaxy S3 LTE user on M1.

I have the same problem.

I believe the problem with andriod phone, any complain from iphone?

Guys, check if you have notification button? Pull down the notification panel from the top, look for the notification button. If you don't see it, go to Settings, Display, Notification Panel, can you find it?

Wow! I thought I was only one of a rare few suffering in silence from this problem! Haven't checked back here in awhile.

Yeap, same issue as y'all. M1 Galaxy Note 2. Have been experiencing this since December 2012.

After a short while of inactivity, Whatsapp does NOT prompt for any new messages AT ALL. Even booting the phone from sleep doesn't show a damn thing. Only after going into the CHAT itself will new messages come up (this means that even just going into the chat list shows nothing).

This happens even in areas with good network connectivity. Tried emailing the Whatsapp team, they threw all the usual bull**** at me (reinstall app, reboot phone, etc.). Obviously none of that worked. They finally gave up, asked me to send a log, and never got back to me.

Strangely, the girlfriend's phone is perfectly fine. M1 Galaxy Note 2, too. So I'm always on the receiving end of a scolding whenever she waits an hour for my reply :(

So who does the fault lie with? M1/Samsung/Whatsapp?

YES! I'm glad i'm not the only one!

I changed from HTC Desire HD to Galaxy Note 2 1 week ago and I've encountered this issue with all my chat apps, and I'm presuming anything that requires push notification from the net. This happens for my Whatsapp and Facebook messenger most noticably. Also, I'm on M1.

On my Desire HD, I had no such problems. But on my Note 2, theres a very annoying notification lag that sometimes can come in 10-20 minutes later. I have been wondering if it is my note 2 or not but apparently it isn't.

Knn ! I thought it was my problem and looks like everyone also have this problem.

I'm on S3 LTE (non root - v4.1.2) on M1 network. Wondering is it the new firmware that causes the problem instead.

It's not the firmware that cause it. My colleagues alot using note 2 & s3 (LTE & non LTE) with singtel and none of them facing this problem. But tested with those with M1, the delayissue is there

I notice something weird though.. This problem also seem to occur on wifi! Not sure if I'm imagining things or not, will monitor further.

But I've noticed lag in notifications for FB Msger and Whatsapp since I got my note 2 1.5 weeks ago.

Seems like problem quite random. Still no way to identify and common things we have in common.
