Where to tailor clothes, continued...

hi guys, just wondering if anyone might know where one could tailor cotton trousers $150 and below.
Looking to do up some "everyday" smart chinos, don't really wanna get OTR from major retailers cuz, once you go side adjusters + pleats, can't go back haha

Wouldn't mind getting like house cotton or the likes, primarily cuz budget's not gonna allow for "premium" brands and also cuz I don't wanna baby my trousers too much. The heart aches less if I get dirt or food stains or whatever.

Looks like couple of new shops opening recent years, but no idea how they're like since covid = wfh for me = no tailoring since. I did some pairs with Lusso/Seamless back then, when the original master tailor was with them, think i wanna explore with other tailors instead. But pls no sakal / collaro... not trying to stir anything, it's just a personal preference (gotta disclaimer this first, sorry guys don't take this the wrong way i mean no harm)

I do have one criteria though, I wanna find a tailor fitting the budget who can do pants that doesn't have that "sunken down" waistband, you know like how some waistbands tend to curve downwards around the belly area, don't quite like the look of it, think it's gonna make my wfh belly even more prominent :O

Rossi - many gd choices esp biz shirts

CYC - nah... just ok and i felt their qlty rougher (low thread count too)

From an aesthetic standpoint, it is objective, and it would be good to take a look at his pictures and draw your own conclusion. Of course, you pay for what you get - you typically can't get comparable levels of workmanship between a $300 suit vs a $1600 suit. The law of diminishing returns applies, however.

Caveat emptor: it is evident that he receives some form of kickback for his reviews, and he can't be objective for nuts, so you will take his opinions with a pinch of salt and let your eyes do the talking:

That's a comfortable budget to work with. If you are open to trying out the newer tailors - do look checkout their socials:

That back is so bad this kid must be blind to say it drapes decently

With the level of experience and requirements revealed in the rather lengthy post u would have thought should be a given 150 and below budget is not doable.

yeah I didn’t really have high hopes. Seeing how many have raised their costs after this couple of years, the more contemporary and decent ones seem to be at least 189 onwards. Even Benjamin barker is now 189ish?

Would you happen to have any experience about sze sze if I may ask? Walked past sze sze the other day, seems promising. I’m not expecting like super clean cuts and all. The only expectation would be about the waistband lol other than that I wouldn’t even be uptight about “silhouette”.

ahhh. Pity for me then. I went in and asked a little about suits for my dad. The master tailor and the aunty are nice people, very courteous and generous in their suggestions to my dad. Perhaps next time.

Can try Lai En I guess. They don't make their trousers in house but they do draft themselves so they will have more control on the make I reckon. It's an experience however.
