Just curious and to the benefit of everyone here， anyone knows the local tailors that charge GST? With GST now 8%, that means a $1500 suit becomes $1620?

Maybe can make a listing so that we factor the gst in our evaluation to tailor with these tailors.

A little late, but recently went to seamless bespoke and the prices were net. Not sure about other tailors.

That was quite fast if customised for you. How is the construction, even though it’s the wrong pair of trousers?

Anyone has good places to visit to tailor at reasonable prices? I like to add linings etc to my clothes but usually damn expensive.

Well, this is it. The correct pair arrived on Sat. They're very lightweight compared to the cotton chinos I always wear. Wrinkles a bit too but I don't mind. I've never owned wool trousers before so it's pretty cool

looking for daily wear pants which is machine washable.

have tried Holland & sherry mixed wool and was told to be machine washable however it shrunk badly after multiple washes so I’m not particular over branded fabrics anymore.
Just seek some recommendations from local tailor which specialises in daily wear machine washable pants

How did you wash it? Even if says machine washable, I would use the most gentle cycle, coldest water and no tumble dry

Most of the time, if they say ots machine washable, I'd hand wash them gently.

The most effective method is to wash and press the fabric length yourself 1-2 times, before letting the tailor cut & make your pants. Doing this will fully shrink the fabric. From experience, always rinse-wash by hand in cold water and let it hang dry naturally, instead of using the washing machine/tumble dry.

Yes, if you buy machine washable fabric to tailor, always soak and air dry them before passing to tailor to cut and make, unless tailor agrees to do it for you.

otherwise, expect shrinkage, especially for plain weave fabric

Cannot see photos. But considering local trousers workmanship $70-120, the fabric accessories are around $60-100 presuming shipping is $20. So it is a fairly good price without the service. Local tailors charge at least $299 for Hudderfields fine worsted pure wool trousers.

wool trousers are usually lightweight if you consider 4 season wool fabric has a weight of 260gsm, most chino gabardine fabric is at least 300gsm

I was wrong. It's not 100% wool. I asked them directly as I wanted to get another pair in grey and it's 30% terylene 70% wool. Only their cotton range is from hudderfields. Slightly disappointed

If it is not 100% wool, it's actually misleading marketing to label as wool trousers and not wool blended trousers
