hi, isnt it the norm for most collars to be fused?

from my personal experience, the fused collars can hold itself quite well against "bubbling" if we hand wash it. it can last 2 years in perfect condition if well maintained. after that some signs may start to show.

of course canvass is preferred but we can save this premium if we care for our shirts. :)

feel free to share ur thoughts haha

Yes you are right. Good quality fused collars should last as long as non-fused. It may prove to be more convenient than non-fused due to it's ability to retain it's stiffness. However if you are the type that likes taking some time off to polish your own shoes, iron your own shirts then you will tend to lean towards canvassed collars.

Quite a pleasure actually.

The thing is though it is quite hard to determine whether the fused collar quality you are getting is good unless your tailor lets you visit his/her workroom and look at the process.

If someone knows how to determine fused collar quality please do share.

Anyone tried making suites from JL Collection/ Tessuti at Peninsular Plaza? Both shops looked quite trendy.

I've tried JL Collection before, the shirt didn't fit me very well.

Collecting my shirt from Dylan in 2 weeks, hoping for the best, since it's quite expensive. (to me, at least)

Anyone can recommend me which tailor/place offers budget yet quality shirts and pants for me to start my first set of working wardrobe?

Thanks!

It's more cost-efficient to get a new shirt rather than spending money to try to salvage it. Any fix may only be temporary since the "inner glue" (whatever we call that) is already detached from the collar.

I could be wrong though. Since I just make a new one if my shirts break. 5 years and going for most of my shirts and there's no bubbling.

I posted above on shirt care and that's what I did to make it last :) hope this helps
