I saw the TP-Link Archer BE805 for sale on Carousell, and it seems to come from a MyRepublic contract. Will this router have ISP-specific issues like the Singtel HB810 or StarHub BE810v?

As per the reports here, it is a generic model so safe to buy.

You can see TP-Link Singapore now lists it under home networking product.

No. There are approved product for Z-wave in Singapore.

As mentioned, I am not an expert in this area so need expert to chime in to talk about the spectrum allocation in Singapore.

For 800MHz band, other than public radio, I know from the following IMDA standard that there are 3MHz spectrum (866-869MHz) allocated to "Tracking, tracing and data acquisition including LPWAN4, RFID". I know this standard since WiFi routers fall under this standard.

I am not so sure Z-wave belongs to which type of device under IMDA.

Frequencies wise, can legitly use 866 – 869 MHz / 920 – 925 MHz with ≤ 500 mW ERP .
But equipment wise, by right need registered with IMDA, by left ...:s22:

Take note 知电小春哥 is still reviewing more WiFi 7 routers so the following list may change fast in year 2024.

For example, I am waiting for him to review the Asus TUF Pro BE3600 and TUF PRO BE6500. I am also interested in the reviews of TP-Link TL-7DR7260.

ZTE BE7200 Pro+ ranks high in hthe list along with ZTE BE5100 Pro+. The two can form a good mesh with Ethernet backhaul.

Ruijie 星耀BE72Pro (MTK Filogic 860 chipset) has also got good reviews. Rujie has now come out with 雪豹BE50 which can form a good mesh with 星耀BE72Pro.

More interestingly we may see higher end models with MTK Filogic 880 chipsets later.

Testing ZTE BE7200 Pro+ QoS bandwidth limiter for wireless clients.

Looks like it is working. The dual core CPU is slow but the 8-core NPU seems to do the job.

@xiaofan which budget router with one 2.5g port should i go for? xiaomi be3600 or tplink be3600

i already have 2.5g opnsense box, just want to make file transfer to wifi faster

Both are okay choices and usually Xiaomi BE3600 will have better workmanships than TP-Link TL-7DR3630. I do not recommend Xiaomi BE3600 to be a main router since it has only 256MB RAM, but it is perfectly fine for your use case as an AP.

On the other hand, I will actually recommend Xiaomi BE5000 since it is only slightly more expensive at around RMB 279. I am buying it myself for testing purpose (I already bought ZTE BE7200 Pro+).

Indeed this is already with some discount for Asus Singapore WiFi 7 offerings.

Now only two options.
1) Asus ROG GT-BE98 quad-band BE25000 at S$1099

2) Asus ZenWiFi BQ16 quad-band BE25000 at S$899

Both have the same Broadcom BCM4916 CPU, 2GB RAM and same BE25000 Wireless specifications. The main differences other than the form factor will be the extra four 2.5G ports and extra gaming feature (including built-in WTFast) for the GT-BE98.

Personally I will not recommend either one because of the high cost. But both GT-BE98 and BQ16 will be a decent buy for those who want to pay for Asus.

It is a pity that Asus does not bring in lower tier models like the triband BE19000 RT-BE96 and even the dual band BE7200 model RT-BE88U. Both are still very capable WiFi 7 routers (10G capable).

Then the China only models like the TUF BE6500 Pro and TUF BE3600 Pro are not bad too. But unlikely Asus will bring them outside of China.

Not so sure if Asus is going to use MediaTek chipsets (Filogic 880 as used in TP-Link Archer BE805) for WiFi 7 routers in the future. Their TUF-AX4200 and TUF-AX6000 MTK Filogic 830 based WiFi 6 routers are pretty good mid-range WiFi 6 routers.

dual wan, good coverage over 8m... total less than $90 😃

How are you? I recently applied for a Singtel 5gbps package. Which one has a better signal transmission rate, HB810 or BE805? Because I don't have enough budget, I can only buy it from carousel. The second-hand HB810 was used for 2 months and cost $360. The new BE805 cost $300. My family doesn't play large games, but just watch movies and do basic online uploads. Could you give me some advice? Thank you.
