It doesn't work that way. There will always be some people who are couriers, delivery drivers, logistics, cleaners etc.

The country will not completing outsource all such personal to foreigners. Imagine if a more serious covid situation occurs and we have no local drivers (since all FT run road or in dorm), NTUC how to get supply from warehouse lol.

Min wage in Singapore setting is to protect people on lower rung ends of employment. Not entitlement style that AMDK wants.

And there are definitely schemes like the PWM already out there but it only encompass cleaners. It should encompass more jobs.... And also include penalties for employers who did not abide by the rules set.

https://www.mom.gov.sg/employment-practices/progressive-wage-model/cleaning-sector

But u can’t prevent the movement of the people....

Minimum wage is never meant to be a solution, it is to prevent labour exploitation.

How about a maximum wage to keep costs down.

Folk terrified of "their" costs going up if a minimim wage introduced.

How about a maximum wage to bring costs down???

Set max wage at 10k/mth.

Just think of the dividend that could be paid out and interest given to savers just by the banks!!!

I dont support min wage.
I support helping those in poverty by skilling them up or giving them assistant while they look for job and break out of Poverty.

Look at the bigger picture please
You are currently supporting policies that "privatise profits, socialise the cost"; taxpayers' money are being used to sustain the problem caused by low wage exploiting employers. Min wage help to push this cost back to such exploiters.

This world is like that...
When I succeed is because I am good
When I fail in life because gov no good

Sounds like what miw always said

When succeed it’s because the ministers are good,
When fail it’s because the world, because China-US, because WHO, because of anyone but themselves.

1/3 of medium pay Per household or 1/2 of medium pay per person per household.
So simple.

Then whenever miw boast that medium pay of sinkies is rising, everyone knows the lowest rung’s pay also gonna rise. ;)
