Honestly if u are going to buy a wine fridge you should invest in a more premium brand.

The other thing to take note is ur buying habit. If u intend to buy wine to keep and age then get the wine fridge. If you find you tend to buy wine and drink it on the day/week/month itself then don't bother buying a wine fridge.

Basically buy a wine fridge only if u intend to start aging your wines for a couple of years.

A reliable producer is Marques Casa Concha Syrah available at FP finest. If u are at 1855 the range is so wide so it's best to just ask the staff on site.

okay noted thanks bro :D

Agree with Bro ikileo..

Btw, I'm using the Brandt wine chiller and I get most of my wines from a wine merchant.. Unless I just want to drink anything/something then I head to the nearest supermarket..lol

*Note: Remember to check if it's meant as a built-in or a standalone. Generally standalone requires ventilation from the back as well (so you got to leave some space, and not directly against the wall). I prefer built-ins but I let it standalone.. Lol

thanks for the recommendation :D

by the way do u guys use wine cooler?

http://list.qoo10.sg/item/FARFALLA-WINE-COOLER-12-BOTTLES-40-LITERS-MODEL-FWC-12TBK-FWC/430932641

is this budget wine cooler good enough for normal use?

I have to agree do not get a cheap cooler if u looking to age over 5 yrs. you don't want to throw away your investment
Things to watch out noise, energy use, etc the common things you see online.

Eurocave maybe the bmw of coolers but expensive.

N'finity not bad, I am considering this series by Wine Enthusiast

I normally get mine from Berry Bros.. There are some smaller distributors/importers I use if they don't have that specific wine I'm looking for..

*On a side note, I feel it is important to get to know your importers and have small chat with them to understand how they store and transport their wines from source to their local warehouse/chiller - especially if you are buying the vintages (more expensive range).. Good long history merchants are important, cos it gives u a more accurate idea on how they store the wine since that year..

Cos once the wine spoils (along the years), it spoils..

@faded11 once u enter the world of wine u feel like u will be bombarded with info overload. But don't worry.

An easy way to start is to pick a wine region and/or grape that you like and start doing some research. Google and youtube are amazing for both newbies and enthusiasts.

From there u can find who are the more prominent producers and their wines. Let us know what grape type or region u like.

Lots of reading up and in depth exploration makes it very fun, worthwhile and delicious

As for white wine i have tried before Dr Loosen and Thomas Steigelmann Riesling. I like both of them.

For the red wines do u remember any of the names? It helps in future to take note or snap a pic.

Great that u enjoy riesling. Many wine enthusiasts and professionals love riesling as well. They age very well, complex and still underrated in this age.

You can try Rusden Black Guts Shiraz if u like something more intense.. Great with red meats.. I tried the 2007 vintage last year, which I felt still has much more potential to age..

@Bro ikileo, u haven't replied my PM leh =:p

OK I know understand your current palate. Also the fact u said u enjoyed Amon Ra, I assume ur budget is quite big as well.

U can look at Shiraz from barossa valley in general as there are producers that make it in a over the top highly extracted style.

You can also drink wines from the southern rhone in France, from the region of chateauneuf du pape. Google it.

a lot of wines have to buy direct from importer.

for Rusden Guts get them at Wine Exchange Asia. google and send him an email.

From the URL above there are some of the wines producers in Australia that I know of that make good/popular shiraz. All are good options just depends on your price point. The biggest and most over the top shiraz among these is the Carnival of Love by Mollydooker; not my style, but if you like the Amon Ra this should be right up your alley.

https://winesonline.com.sg/-酒坊/Best's-Great-Western-Bin-No.-1-Shiraz?cid=2&wtid=2&vid=7&price=0,1000

https://winesonline.com.sg/-酒坊/John-Duval-Plexus?cid=2&wtid=2&vid=7&price=0,1000

https://winesonline.com.sg/-酒坊/Mitolo-G.A.M.-Shiraz?cid=2&wtid=2&vid=7&price=0,1000

https://winesonline.com.sg/-酒坊/Mollydooker-Carnival-Of-Love?cid=2&wtid=2&vid=7&price=0,1000

The only french wine from Chateauneuf du Pape: https://winesonline.com.sg/-酒坊/Pierre-Usseglio-Chateauneuf-Du-Pape?cid=4&zid=12&wtid=2&price=0,1000

Enjoy
