i tried it at Citylink as well. Carrefour is also retailing it.
It's quite a good QPR. I would recommend the Saperavi varietal.

Oh didn't know Carrefour sells it, thanks for heads-up. I like Kindzmarauli type, been drinking it since before coming to sg.
The owner is quite nice and you can have a nice chit chat with him if he's around (Eric).

I'm helping a friend to organise a Portuguese wines tasting at Geylang Serai Community Centre. It will held on 30 Apr (Sat), 2-4pm. He has invited the the wine merchant from Portugal to introduce the wines, their making process and Portuguese wine regions.

The tasting flight include 2 whites, 3 reds and 1 Port (wine with distilled grape spirits).

Let me know by 22 Apr (Fri) if you are interested!

Cheers!

has anyone tried Freemark Abbey, Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon 2006?
I just had 2 glasses, I have this kind of calming effect after drinking it.

@kaizwine: I'm sure the organiser and wine merchant will be more than happy if you take photos and introduce the wines to your friends!

what an amazing experience last night! what started off as a guided tasting of top class german pinot noir from Weingut Huber, led into me tasting a lovely mature rioja and a delicious sparkling vouvray. thereafter during dinner a blind tasting of a mature grower champagne, and 3 red wines that all of us had placed as burgundy but ended up being in other regions in France. wonderful guests in the form of Gault Millau head writer for the German Guide: Joel Payne; and owner of Sottimano: Andrea Sottimano himself.

http://www.cellartracker.com/event.asp?iEvent=13857

if only all my tastings ended up like this.

100% red wines made from Pinot Noir from the Champagne region anyone?

i think it's sub-$20. though it's not uncommon for supermarket chains to have their own private label wines like in Europe and US, it's quite novel here in SG.

the DFI Ground (Cold Storage, GIANT etc...) also have their private label but they don't put Cold Storage on it. If I'm not wrong it's Flinder's Choice and French Cellars.

might wanna use it for a blind tasting.

Hi,

Does anybody know which of these two schools offer the most comprehensive program for wine courses, (WSET)? Shatec or Temasek Poly?
:)

here's a funny election theme we can use to choose for whatever wines you will be drinking this weekend. Try to pick a wine that you think best represents whatever political party you find interesting.

It can be real simple as PAP = white wine 'cos white colour.
or it could be a style of wines that you think represent the the Worker's Party or something. Have fun with it and tell us online!
