not really, some of the options i'm looking at are the Delamotte Brut NV, Duval Leroy Brut NV and possibly some wines from the large selection of grower champagne from Artisan Cellars. i wouldn't mind a good cava too...

I've a bottle of Segura Viudas cava. It's not too shabby. But I felt that the packaging is better than the contents, despite being a limited edition estate produce. :p

The effervescence is certainly pretty. It's finer than some others. I got this bottle during a tasting.

The shiny parts that you see are made of pewter. Because of the packaging I'm not sure when I'd open this bottle. Surely not when I'm feeling thirsty. But which special day? Hmm...

i think i've tried this or another vintage. for german producers, the QBA is the typically the starting level of their wines; so it can be considered as 'entry level'. this is quite a large and popular German producer that makes very good german wines as you climb up the quality ladder.

for my personal taste, it is a simple and enjoyable wine. it's got some nice residual sugar which makes this wine very palatable. a straightforward enjoyable riesling.

but if u are looking into something more serious and captures the essence of the Germany terroir then perhaps you could look to other producers or 'kabinett' wines and up.

YES, got it from NTUC AMK.

No one bother me, but i choose to sit a corner as preferred to alone with my GF. Also, at this branch, Botak has it's own wine bar.

This wine is rather ok not that full bodied (I think). But heavy on the alcohol. 14.5%. We ordered the Steak and Lamb shank, it goes well with the Steak except for the lamb shank which sort bring out the 'Pepper' in the food which is abit too much. It consist of taste of dark berries or grapes. overall it is a good table wine. Was having a good conversation with my gf TILL the Botak Staff came and clear my food without asking whether i'm done especially there are still bit of food on the plates.

Finally, if U are getting this wine, PLS PLs NOTE that the Cork for this brand is very brittle...Got 2 bottles and BOth cork broke halfway while removing from bottle.

sounds nice. from experience, if u are going to get a big wine and eating steak or anything with a 'black pepper sauce', it will almost always bring out that spiciness from the sauce and wine; so choose your wine and food carefully.

if it's a steak, i typically don't ask for black pepper sauce, i think it's a very SG kind of generic sauce. a simple brown sauce, or if it's a premium piece of steak, i don't ask for any sauce.

for seafood it's always good to go with a nice white. but then again don't let me tell you what you should or should not do. if u enjoy a shiraz with your fish and prawns then that's fine.

Seriously, Mg GF and I have been drinking wine without pairing with food... but we felt that we not doing justice to the wine without having it with food. But also, we enjoyed just the wine alone...
