That bottle was pop & pour. Maybe we should let it breath a while.

But I have heard Cloudy Bay SB standard has dropped a lot. Last time was very solid (but I have no luck to try) and my experience with recent vintage show it has hollow midpalate. So I suspect other Cloudy Bay wines also affected.

in the aug session, someone brought a 2010 CBSB and it tasted decently enough with some over the top flavours. but for the price you pay, i have other options....

Had dim sum lunch with my friend and his gf and his family. My gf and our other friend came along. The friend t hat came along spent a year and a half studying and working in Florence Italy and is my long time friend and wine kaki also; now he has a butt load of Italian wine; he will come along next time.

We had these today:

NV Pierre Paillard Champagne Grand Cru
2008 Clonakilla Viognier

And my friend brought this
2006 Castano Coleccion, Yecla, Spain (90% Monastrell, 10% Cab)

Will post notes soon!

nice...which was your fave and least fave among those you've posted?

My fav are possum viognier and alter ego. Like possum cos it's unique nose n pretty complex finish. Alter ego is drinking well now too.

Disappointed w whispering angel (rose, bitter finishing n lack of complexity),villa maria & wither hill(both white, both too sweet n one dimentional).

Ikileo is right, It is quite possible to finish those bottles. I had a few parties/gathering over the 2 long wkend ,and we just popped the bottles one after the other. Plus, I missed out the details of a few bottles tt I consumed, probable too drunk those nites.. Hehe. Wat to do, is festive season!

Hmm, I can't confirm now, but I'm interested to try the Vietti wines. Passed by this place on the way to Extra Space before. They have a branch at Keong Saik too.

as we have crossed into 2012, i would like to pose some questions to everyone here, lurkers included!

1) What is your wine resolution in 2012?

2) What change in the Singapore wine scene do you want to see in 2012?

for those just browsing around and never replied before, it would be awesome to know what you think too :D (remember there are no wrong answers)

iro of ikileo questions:
1. i hope to try more aged wines in 2012, rather than babykill so many bottles.

2. hope the drop in the price of bordeaux 2010 en premiur can filter down to the retail market at singapore, so we can drink more wines at cheaper price!! :D

My wine resolution in 2012 is to buy less wines and reduce my wine stocks :o

I hope to see more wines tasting opportunities (and hopefully the place is easily accessible to me too :D) serving good wines and vertical. Of course the price must be affordable. Too often I see cheap or free tasting but serving lower quality wines and top quality wines tasting but expensive fees.

Yeah, very likely I will be there ;)
Was at their last year's annual wines fair and walked away with empty hand and tasted many wines. Hopefully this year can do the same :D
