KM,
WoW! These 2 Wines are OLDER THAN ME! kekekek. Will Definately love to taste this wine. Wonder how it will taste like? Do have same texture?

Lynch Bages '76 and Certain de May '79 both tasted very differently but I enjoyed them equally. Lynch Bages is still holding well, mellow down but I can still feel the bodied and it must be masculine when young. It has meaty and savoury character with dried fruits on palate. On the other hand Certain de May '79 is still amazingly youthful with fruits and herbs on a subtle palate.

went to aa french wine yday, and bought a few bottles of bordeaux reds > 10 yrs:
chateau larmande 1997
chateau beau soleil 1995
chateau dalem 1985
and clos de L'oratoire 1995

dun think most of them will be super good, but, hope to gain some experience from aged vintage as i have not really tried much of these so far...

Do not judge them by price or classification. Although it may not be super good but I believe most of them can turn out to be a very enjoyable wines especially you take into consideration of the price and age of wines. Enjoy! :)

Sula has been around in sg for at least 2-3 years. Cold storage used to carry them.

It is a very new wine frontier, like Thailand and china. But it will take a decade or so for something big to happen, assuming they keep improving and for the vines to get older and take root deeper into the soil.

But u can try it for yourself and see.

I just popped Lamarde 1997 last nite, with my newly purchased "Cork-Pops" wine opener ... which is super cool and fun to open the wines cos, the cork will really popped out like we pop champagne !!

back to the Lamarde, it tasted quite ok. TN - brick color, cedar/oaky nose, on palate, plum, toasty oak with dry finish (which puzzle me...). presence of integrated tannin and acidity. pretty good bottle indeed.

today on leave. heading out for dinner with close colleagues at Imperial Treasure @ Taka.

they are casual drinkers but they would like a wine 101.

I am bringing:

2007 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico
2000 Schlossgut Diel Goldloch Riesling Auslese

Both have been breathing in the bottle for the past 7 hours. Upon opening they tasted very nice already.

yeah sure. if u are concerned u can always stick it in an air con room.

wine is not that brittle, a cool room temp is fine.

i know it sounds stupid but sometimes I'm paranoid that dust or insects will go in if i let it breathe too long :(
