Yep, anonymity is important in the digital world! Otherwise they'd be subjected to mosaic treatment hehe

i will be penning down the wines i tasted in UK over the weekend when i have the time. due to it's history in the wine trade, it is the crossroads of pretty much most (if not all) of the european wine regions, down to the small appellations. and for an expensive city, good wine doesn't have to blow your wallet; probably due to the competitive market and informed consumer.

Aiyah missed the session again zzz

Here's a summary of some nice wines I came across recently:

This should go quite well with the us wine feast lineup...very deep and fruity...almost french?

Swept up in record time

Riesling...i like...

Surprisingly deep, a very beautiful wine to see, smell and taste

Fruity and honey sweet...when chilled properly, i think it goes down really well in our current weather

Had very high expectations for this one but was pretty underwhelmed...tannin and sour...maybe need to air it for an hour or 2...

Any recommendations for a nice bottle of montepulciano d'abruzzo or any other italian reds? Hoping to bring one for a dinner tomorrow.

Nice line-up of wines..

For Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Intervino has a serious bottling, the Valle Reale San Calisto. They are located at Changi though, dunno if that's convenient for you.

You can also try some of the modern Tuscans, eg. Tenuta Sette Ponti - the entry Crognolo has more Tuscan typicity while the Oreno is rich but elegant. Available at 1855.

A few of us also went to a tasting by World of Wines (Central & Square 2) recently where a few estates from the same owner were showcased.
- Feudi del Pisciotto from Sicily, whose bottles are all of the same price and feature labels by designers like Versace, Missoni etc; a collaboration that will see the proceeds donated towards the restoration of selected Sicilian artifacts.
Recommended: Il Grillo (100% Grillo; Fat, luscious White), Frappato (100% Frappato, Rustic and exotic)

- Castellare di Castellina, an excellent Chianti Classico producer
Recommended: Their CC Riserva is great bang for buck, at 50+.

- Rocca di Frassinello, an estate near the Tuscan coast but more towards the inland than Bolghere. A joint venture with Rothschild-Lafite, they make Sangio-Merlot-Cab blends that are excellent value.
Recommended: Le Sughere (2nd wine, fantastic value) and Rocca di Frassionello (Top wine)

i've had it before, so it's interesting tasting it again.
not really my thing. especially after knowing how much it costs. IMO, doesn't taste like a merlot. one of those super-charged aussie reds.

Haha not really. I prefer to keep hydrated in the dry airplane. So I typically stick to juices and water
