Winter in hokkaido is very nice and beautiful, but not when it is snowing heavily and with strong wind. Remind me of a disney movie 'Frozen'. *brr brr brr*
Saw alot of snow. Fulfil my wish to c snow.
But almost fell down due to the ice.

It is still snowing outside now.

Quite an experience with snow falling on you while soaking in the onsen :D

Experienced the coldness from snow while soaking in the onsen at Shirawakago for close to 2 hrs at last month...

No snow falling on me however.

Bro you may wish to check out this blog

Where to take Onsen in and around Sapporo Japan

Actually why don't you stay in an onsen hotel or ryokan and enjoy their in house onsens instead? Its more convenient than shutting to n fro Sapporo

Thanks for the site!

I going during snow fes, so the more popular ones are sold out already.

Maybe considering hoheikyou onsen for a day trip. Depends on whether my partner wants to go or not coz at the onsen we will be on our own (different gender)

这里的雪景很有感觉,但是超级冷冷冷,冰冰冰冷。

Last night in Sapporo, going back tmr already, quite sian.

Despite the freezing cold subzero weather, i enjoyed myself. Went to most of the places i planned to go. Happy and satisfied to fulfil another 2 of my traveling wish - to experience snow and to travel to hokkaido.

I am glad that eventually i am determined to travel to hokkaido, never give up due to the winter coldness and because it is a solo trip. Thanks to my determination or you can call it stubborness.

This is not just a holiday trip, it is also a semi retreat.

I see. I experience. I learn. I think. I reflect.

Snow is very beautiful. But it is killing me also. Cold until sneezing, had bad heachache yesterday, absorbed too much cold air and wind these few days.

Experienced all sorts of weather: light snow, heavy snow, strong wind, drizzling and a bit sunny. Icy road tht feel like ice skating, many times almost fell, and once i fell. I saw powder snow.

Walking alone in heavy snow with only a few pple along the road, dark sky and a bit lost my way was scary (and lonely).

Of cos there sure to be few problems in the trip, but these r minor, solved in the end.

Am grateful for the helpful and frenly pple i met along my trip. Be it the local, the staffs, and even the tourists. They r nice.

Not sure when i will come back japan again, but if i were to come back, i hope to go kyushu or summer in hokkaido (challenge myself for mt fuji?).

Byebye japan. Byebye hokkaido. I will miss u. I will keep the memories in my heart.

I have been quite fortunate to experience snow falling while soaking in an outdoor onsen in Yubari during my trip last Christmas.
