otherwise... have to look elsewhere >.<
most affordable budget level wireless earbuds come with average OEM silicon ear tips. some fellows here will switch out with their own favourite ear tips for better comfort and seal.
Believe many tws owners here.. I guess some manufacturers does state not to use fast charger on their brands of tws... About soundpeats.. Their tws manual does stated clearly using 1a and below charger. I did accidentally plug the h1 to fast charger (QC4).. And charging got issue.. However after slowly plug in and out from slow charger... The charging goes back to normal.
For all tws I owned I try to use low Ampere charger to charge them so as to prolong their battery health... Those tiny batteries in them sure can't tahan those rapid chargers... Fyi

the soundpeats sonic I got few days ago having issues
left side keeps stuttering and disconnection, multiple times per song, not sure if its because of bluetooth interference or the TT app
previous 2 earbuds were battery problems, now this..
refund and get new one? any ideas for <$100 earbuds?
The new Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3 already have counterfeits. The first pair I bought from Shopee Singapore turned out to be a fake. I managed to get a refund for that and I decided to buy a 2nd one from a reseller in Aliexpress.
I decided to do a short video showing the differences between the Original and Counterfeit AirDots 3.
My review of the PQ earbuds from Kickstarter with Interchangeable Batteries and up 150 Hours
Earlier this year in April 2021, a group of people from China dropped a Kickstarter campaign called PQ Earbuds with interchangeable batteries, boasting a massive 150 hours of usage and around 6 hours of single charge usage. That got me really excited, as several companies have attempted to incorporate this feature into wireless earbuds but most failed to achieve decent levels of single usage. So I decided to back it and hopefully this idea will become a reality.
Now, the PQ earbuds were going for USD49 exclusive for kickstarter backers, it was successfully backed in June 2021 and it arrived at my doorsteps pretty quickly in 6 weeks time. For those of you who wish to check it out, I included their official website in the Description segment. For the past one week, I have been testing the PQ earbuds, so here are the Top 3 things you should consider before you hit that “BUY” button. And towards the end of this video, I will include audio tracks showcasing the Mic quality of the PQ earbuds.
Design & Build
it is surprisingly pretty well-built. There are two versions: Standard and Premium. The Standard is ABS plastic, whereas the Premium variant comes with metal charging case.
The Standard version I got is black colour. There are two colours for the earbuds (Black & white), while there are around 6 colours available for the battery stems. Comparing the size of the case alongside other brands such as Jabra 85t, Redmi AirDots 3 and Airpods Pro, it is slightly bigger and a bit heavier.
When you hold the casing in your hands, it feels very solid and sturdy. The case lid, when closed, only wobble just slightly. The top of the case has this leather-like finishing which is pretty scratch-resistant and the logo survived my fingernail scratch test. The rest of the case is matt finishing. Overall, these are not finger-print magnet.
At the back of the case, you will find the USB-C port.
After you plug in the usb-C charging cable, the 5 white LED lights at the front will light up to indicate that its charging.
When fully charged, all the 5 lights will go off automatically. Now the 5 LED lights are labelled L, B1, C, B2, R. Inside, the earbuds lay vertically. In the middle, are two charging ports for an additional pair of battery stems. Here you will see the same labels: L, B1, C, B2, R, as the white led lights on the front.
For the lid itself, there is no resistance in the spring to hold the lid at any angle. So you will need to open the lid fully.
For the earbuds, the design and shape resembles the Apple Airpods Pro, barring a longer battery stem.
The construction of the battery stems doesn’t feel cheap. It feels solid and has a certain weight.
The magnets used are pretty strong. The lid rarely opens if dropped from knee height. The magnets connecting the earbuds and battery stems are pretty strong too.
Comfort & Fit
Since the design and shape of the PQ earbuds are based on the Apple Airpods Pro, it is very easy to pop the PQ earbuds into your ears each and every time.
It is very easy to get the seal to block out some basic noise from the environment
They are very comfortable to wear for long hours. I don’t get any ear fatigue after wearing them for 4 to 5 hours straight. So these are great for those long listening sessions and webinar sessions.
For those of you who have an active lifestyle, gymming etc, the PQ earbuds are rated IPX5. I tested these under a regular running water tap, they work fine. They also stay snug in my ears and they are not gonna drop out.
Connectivity
The PQ earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0 though no further information is provided regarding the processing chip.
It supports Bluetooth profile: HSP, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP
Codec supported: SBC & AAC
Bluetooth range is 10metres. On my testing, I was able to get it up to 8metres in my house (going into another room) and around 12metres outdoors (unblocked)
Able to connect to Android, iPhone, PC. A robotic woman's voice will say “Connected” to indicate connection.
Near-Instant connection when you open the lid.
No fixed master/slave. Able to use each earbud independently after pairing.
Switches effortlessly between music, videos and phone calls / video app calls
#1: Battery Life
Putting aside the general things. Let’s talk about the 1st major thing to consider about the PQ earbuds and that is BATTERY LIFE, which is the main feature.
The battery size of the battery stem is 40mAh. In terms of the battery performance, the battery stem lasted around 6.5 hours on music at 100% volume.
Talktime on the PQ earbud is around 5.5 hours.
When we look at mixed usage, I was able to get around 5 hours on music, if I spend 1 hour on phone calls.
The additional pair of battery stems in the case, gives me the assurance that I truly enjoy full-day music listening or movie marathons. I don’t need to stop my music or video for 1-2 hours just because I need to juice up my earbuds, before I can pop them back on again.
The Charging case also comes with a generous 1000mAh battery size. After one week, the case still has a lot of juice left.
#2 Functionality
Now, the 2nd major thing to consider is day-to-day Functionality.
Initial BT pairing experience is an absolute delight. Once you open the lid, you will see “Y28” name pop up on your phone’s Bluetooth profiles and initiate pairing. The pairing process is effortless for Android phones, iPhone and PC. And get this, the entire process is done without you even taking out the earbuds.
Subsequently, Bluetooth reconnection with your devices takes around 2 seconds the moment you open the lid.
The BT connection is very stable with my Android and iPhone throughout my usage period, even though there were 2 - 3 times of odd sound drop which cannot be explained. Otherwise, the connection is great.
Volume output at 100% is really loud. There is no audio distortion. But For those of you, who are like me, whereby you usually enjoy your music at 30-40% Volume, do take note that the output is already pretty loud in the 30-40% range.
PQ earbuds come with a series of touch controls including built-in volume control, which is great for a pair of wireless earbuds below USD50.
The touch control area is located at the curve area of the earbuds and they are pretty sensitive. They respond very well to the commands, Play/Pause, Next/Previous tracks, Vol up & down.
Still, I can only speak of the product I have with me and not the rest.
#3 Sound quality
Now, Moving on to the 3rd major thing to consider is Sound quality.
The PQ earbuds comes with 8mm dynamic drivers
PQ earbuds offer clarity without being too harsh or sharp. The Lows are heavy and Deep. The Mids are clear. The Highs are detailed enough. Soundstage is of medium stature. Sound location is good but not the biggest. You can still feel the music around you.
Sound quality is maintained even at max 100% volume. There are no cracks, popping or hissing sound.
Bass is great. The mid-bass kicks and punches in your ears. Even the darkest sub-bass tones don’t sound overly deep, it can rumble fiercely. When it comes to electronic music and EDMs, you can hear the lower mid-tones and darker electronic tones. It gives the PQ earbuds body in Sound.
Instruments sound natural. Vocals are clear and rich, it does not overpower other sounds.
Still, due to its 8mm drivers, it did struggle with certain instrumental and classical music, as it doesn’t have a wide soundstage.
When it comes to Games, it is important to take note that there is a slight delay in the sound effects but it is not noticeable for casual gamers. Too bad the PQ earbuds do not have a “Gaming mode” to improve latency.
Overall, Sound quality is great. In fact I feel that it did surprisingly well compared to other wireless earbuds in the similar price range.
TL; DR Final Verdict
Are they worth it? Well, there is definitely room for improvements, such as a dedicated app for greater flexibility and improving its noise cancellation & voice isolation capabilities so that the microphone quality for phone calls and video calls in noisy environments can be better.
Otherwise, it has great sound, essential touch controls, interchangeable batteries and an incredible battery life. You can definitely consider the PQ earbuds.
Anyone heard of Soundcore Life P3? The review seems pretty good. It's supposed to be cheaper than the Liberty Pro 2, but somehow I don't see it released in Singapore.
Can anyone a recommend a NON IN-EAR wireless earbud ( like airpod ) that has the longest battery life?
1) budget ( less than $100 & $200 )
2) battery life more impt than sound quality ( for public commute & occasional calls only )
3) IP rating ( nice to have )
4) ANC ( optional ; not neccesary)
