Got a few BT5.0 hanging around, very consistent signal drop under crowded places

was deciding this with QCY HT05. end up buying HT05

Sounds like a bad product cos even the price is not exactly competitive

Not exactly a bad product. Just the extra features are way behind the rest of the competition.

QCY HT05 melobuds and Baseus bowie WM05 are ANC earbuds around the same price point as Creative Zen Air. Both models are considered the entry ANC models of their respective companies
but they offer more up-to-date BT5.2 protocol, much strong ANC, full app support, fully adjustable ANC, fully adjustable EQ, gaming mode etc

even ultra affordable non-ANC wireless earbuds like Lenovo XT62 and baseus WM02 are using Bluetooth 5.3, with overall battery life longer than Zen Air.

not that I wanna diss a local sinkie company but considering that creative had good experience with the Outlier Air series... I was expecting them to do better with zen air since it was just released in Dec 2022
at least fit it with BT5.2 or BT5.3 and a much bigger battery size (Bump it to 30 hrs range)

Good deal. I bought for $36 last July. It's my daily beater now. To be honest, it's much better than Creative v3 in terms of user friendliness, price and actually pretty decent anc

Totally agree except for battery life
But as daily beater it’s negligible

Because my journey barely exceeds 2 hours per trip, thus the earbuds get to go back to the casing to charge. If I need to nitpick, it's transparency mode let in too much wind sound which can be a little annoying.

Owners of qcy ht05, may I ask how do we know if the earbud has reached it's max vol on the earbud itself? I have an older earbud which will either say volume maximum or make a sound so I know, but on the ht05, I'm puzzled, cos if I tap too much, the volume seems to be slightly lower at some point... Grateful if someone could enlighten me on this. Thanks.

cuz the audio output rarely go past 60% level for my HT05

How do you max out the volume for HT05? Even with ambience mode, max I can go is around 3/4. At ANC maybe between half to 3/4. I will imagine my eardrum may break if i listen on 100% max.
Btw, I am using Poco X3 Pro. Not sure if phone makes a difference...

No, I didn't max the vol in phone. I'm asking max on earbud, I know some earbud volume can be adjusted on the bud itself. I'm not sure if I have max it on the bud cos at the same level as my older bud, ht05 sounds a little too soft on the same on level. So I'm not sure if there is any way to know if the bud itself is already set to the max volume. My previous bud is fill t1xs and it will tell me the vol is max on the bud. I wonder how to know if I'm at max on the bud for ht05.

Yes. The type of android phones do make a difference on the max audio output

this is apparently true thou weird and this is due to a built-in audio limiter within the smartphone motherboard. Only viable bypass is to use a 3rd party audio/vol adjustment app to further increase the volume level

Ok, i just tried it on my phone with HT-05. Max out the volume on spotify, there is no beep or voice to notify the max. Btw, when I adjust the volume with the HT-05 touch functions, arent it adjusting the phone's system volume directly too? Have difference between earphone volume and phone volume?

Yes have different on bud and phone. Say I use my fiil, sometimes some drama on vol 10% is too loud, so I will lower the bud volume by tapping the bud to lower the vol. The phone vol value still remains as 10%. Likewise, sometimes if at vol 30% on phone is too soft, I'll go max the earbud vol before I adjust the one on phone to higher. I assume by doing this I save abit on the phone batt

If I am not wrong, what you are referring to is the volume of the media player application, not volume of the phone. Most video players will have their own in app volume control, while as applications like Spotify uses phone's volume. What the earbud controls is the phone's volume, not media application's volume.

I tested the volume control for QCY HT05 with my iphone 12 mini.

at max and min volume level, there are no sound indications.
and it will adjust the overall volume level for phone and earbuds together

but when i test the same vol control function with my Android OPPO find X3 Pro, it will only adjust the earbuds vol level and not the phone vol level, unlike how it works on my iphone 12 mini

Btw, I didn’t realise that Baseus updated WM05 to support multi-point connection.

this was a feature which I did not see at all some 8 months when i first got it.

i verified with Baseus and they confirmed that WM05 now supports multi-point connection feature.
They mentioned that it works across Apple Android and Windows, including cross platforms
they also gave me the instruction to activate this feature.

HOW TO ACTIVATE MULTI-POINT feature on Baseus Bowie WM05
step 1: do bluetooth pairing with Device A.

Step 2: after completed, switch off bluetooth on Device A. WM05 should automatically go back to bluetooth pairing mode.

step 3: do bluetooth pairing with Device B

step 4: once completed, keep the Bluetooth activated on Device B and switch on the Bluetooth on Device A

if done correctly, you should see WM05 connected on both devices and it switches automatically between both devices

i tried it out and it works.

i also tried with older iphone (iphone 6) and older Android phones (Samsung A5 and Motorola Z2 play), it works

when it comes to laptop + laptop, that’s when the connection issue started, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

other devices like linux UNIX etc I can’t test as I don’t have the OS

Ya that's what I'm trying to say, the earbud vol and phone is different, I'm on android. So, confirm ht05 didn't have any kind of alert that the bud is at its max vol. Thanks for testing it out on your end.
