Wireless bluetooth EAR BUDS recommendations

Pardon my ignorance. Do brands or prices stand out in terms Bluetooth connectivity? I bought a pair of Bluetooth earbud by the brand Savfy for $50 for almost 6 months. Quality aside, the Bluetooth connection with my MP3 Sony NW-A35 and mobile phone is random, which good days there is hardly any disconnection, but times it just keep disconnecting every few seconds annoying. Should this be the problem of my MP3 player and phone or really the earbud?

The hardware might be different and most reputable brands use BT 4.2 LE (some might even use 5.0). Cheaper brands might use 4.1 or even the old 4.0 which may cause connection conflict between the newer devices instead.

But it also boils down to how the earbuds are connected to your device. Some such as Apple's AirPods individually connects to the iPhone, providing a very stable connection as compared to those having a master and slave connection type.

I've two such types - Earin M-1 and my latest B&O Beoplay E8. The M-1 (being one of the first true wireless earbuds, hence quite primitive technology) uses BT between master and slave, this type of connection is very poor and causes frequent cut-offs and disconnections. The E8 otherwise uses some electro kind of connection (someone can help me out with the term?) between both earbuds and hence have a more solid connection, though sometimes there are still audio skips, more than my AirPods.

Use same device go stereo try out some popular models. Then u'll know if its your $50 earbud or source device problem liao lo...

NFMI.Near Field Magnetic interface. This type works within 20cm and can pass your skull. Also very low lag. Good for video. But will be affected by anything magnetic. Anyone phone with NFC. Just place it near the earbud and can experience it.

Thanks for the help! Yes NFMI (will keep in mind) and sometimes while walking along streets, can experience my music skipping/cutting off for split-seconds. There are even times for example when I stand in front of the doors waiting for MRT, music gets cut off completely and cannot resume.

MRT doors i've not experienced this. Maybe someone beside using similar device?

Bus entrance I've not had this either. Only occasionally during bus exits. I've no idea why either.

Mine is bluetooth 4.1, and the master/slave pairing you describe. It will usually first pair the left and right earbuds first before pairing with the device. Are almost all wireless earbuds working this way? Other than the NFMI ones you mentioned.

That is due to the cards reader beside the doors. Lol.

I mean yeah I know its due to the card readers.

But I've no idea why does it only occur at the exits of the bus. But never at the entrance.

Well maybe. I rarely take bus now as I always go to work via MRT.

Mine is bluetooth 4.1, and the master/slave pairing you describe. It will usually first pair the left and right earbuds first before pairing with the device. Are almost all wireless earbuds working this way? Other than the NFMI ones you mentioned.

My AirPods pair individually, The Earin M-1 is right paired to left (left master via BT) and the Beoplay E8 is left paired to right (right master via NFMI).

Anyone knows if Beoplay E8 bought in Japan is covered with international warranty? Thinking of getting it so that I can use it during my trip. Otherwise I’ll just get it when I’m back in Singapore since the price difference is negligible.

Most if not all decent in ear monitor / earphones have noise isolating properties lah, this one not noise cancelling.

any recommendations for lower end ones? prolly around $50+/- currently my dad using the plantronics m70 it fits weird to the ear and the volume is damn soft even after adjustments to max. hes getting old already so having hearing problems too would like one that would be much louder and not have some weird ear tip rubber thingy.

You're looking for earbuds then, something like airpods. Not sure if there are any tho, probably airpods knockoffs at the most.. like this one
