Assuming your phone is running EMUI10 and above, you get full functionality of them.

Current version on my phone is 10.0.0.191

If really need this to function well then i do not see a point to get it.

I am about to change my phone to probably a Samsung at the end of the year

To make things more confusing, the version I bought from Aliexpress is small squarish box but is the newer aptx version.

Soundpeats is a mess when it comes to this. lol

Actually, its safer to go to their ubi office, check which version it is before ordering. If its the aptx version, just order on-spot.

Can share how you verify it is apt-x version or not ah?

For longer box like Popular's version, it will be shown at the back of the box.

For the small squarish box, nothing will be stated on the box. You need to open the box and check the instruction booklet for the specs.

As long as the bluetooth chipset states its QCC3020 (whether at the back of the box or in the booklet), it is the aptx version.

Just some first day comments.

The fitting is good for me, tight and secure since its also built for sports, but I don't think people with small ears will be comfortable with this. No software noise cancellation but passive noise blocking is there.

Soundstage doesn't seem to be as expansive as truedots. Treble in the original setting is nice and crisp. Bass in the original settings is ok, but when you set the bass setting in the equalizer app, its strong. (Not sure if its as strong as Mpow T5, since I did not get T5).

On android and PC end, there is no lag/latency.

I've also tested it on an ipad (Borrowed).

The appstore version of the app also connects without any issue. Note: Only the Apple appstore version has spotify integration, enabling advanced features like voice commands to search songs. The android version do not have spotify integration.

On the ipad, the latency and lag on youtube is noticeable. I did not try the low latency mode to see if it improves. I supposed it will.

Equalizer app made for the specific earpieces really works much much better than general equalizer apps from appstore/playstore.

Overall, this is really the most value-for-money, featured packed earpiece at this price point which comes with a capable app and even built for sports with outstanding sound. Its no wonder it gets compared to the likes of lypertek tevi, anker and even momentum.

Hi, I am a noob to all these and many had mentioned, it is best you try yourself at shop. I am currently using a China set, Mixcder headset with ANC but the base is too heavy for me. I intend to get a new set with a budget of $300 for weekends listening in the train and probably for my run? I was introduced Sony WF1000 XM3. I am not sure about ear buds. Pls share you views? TIA.

Sorry if i am posting in the wrong thread.

I am looking for recommendation for earbuds / headphones.

I have been browsing through the different threads in this forum and can see that ear buds seems to be a popular choice among all the people here?

I will be using it mainly for daily uses (Mrt / Bus / walking) and occasional travels (1/2 times per year). I will not be using it for exercises.

Base on the above point, do you guys think it is better for earbuds / headphones?

Will it be better to get ANC? I do understand that ANC do not fully block MRT.

But i would prefer peace and quiet on the train.

I am not an Audiophile. Neither my brain nor my ear knows anything in the "sound world"

The music I listen to is mostly "sad songs" (Eg: Eric Chou / JJ Lin etc)

Budget wise will be below 500.

I do understand that the best thing to do is to test everything on my own.

However, I have once tried to go stereo at DG but the guy there made me seem like i owe him a million dollar.

Do let me know if you guys need any more information in order to better recommend me .

Hi, maybe i can recommend Sony WI-1000XM2 to u.
It is a neckband style earphones and within the budget u stated.
Since u said it will be used for normal commute and some traveling and not for sports, which are my exact reasons for buying this.
Pro: good ANC, 10hr battery in one charge, can just leave it on your neck when not listening so no need bring carrying case, can plug in 3.5mm to IFE, phonecalls are much better than most TWS earbuds
Con: carrying case is like spectacle box (but u don't have to bring out), 10hr is all u get till u charge it again

The WF1000XM3 are not IP rated, so if u sweat a lot, i won't suggest it.

Lol. Its funny that these so called 'premium' offerings by big names that charge high prices but are incredibly lacking.

I am disillusioned by these big names who don't deliver the value they are charging a premium for.

WF1000XM3 is really good with their noise-cancelling and sound quality. The ANC works very well especially on transport and makes a huge difference.

If you don't need noise cancelling, the Anker Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 is really good for sound quality, water proofing, fit, battery life and customer service. Their app also very easy to use for equalizer settings. They do suffer from some slight white noise that is dependable on your hearing. They are also quite big in size compared to others.

Can also go try bone conducting earphones but these have ZERO active or passive noise blocking, but really good if you need music but still able to get outside input. NOT RECOMMENDED for transport unless you want to put on earplugs.

Got good and bad stuff coming out from big brands, Sony including. Their first earbuds the XM1 was rubbish, same goes for the SP700.
The 1000XM3 is good for music though, but music is subjective so if a pair of cheaper buds work for u, why not?

I am in the same situation as u. Currently looking for a pair which isn't too expensive ($100+/-), has IP rating, BT 5.0 and got some ambient pass though mode (for awareness). Still looking around.

Any ANC now is not on par with ANC headphones. The current technology is sub-par now and its not even worth paying for that technology. The only good thing about earpiece with ANC is ambient mode, which allows surroundings to be heard without removing the earpieces. Though many had bash it as a gimmick and serve no difference as removing one side of the earpieces.


I am not actively checking whether there is sales or not, since I am not looking for one myself. I only take the usual retail price in consideration.
