Oneplus Buds 3 seems to be the new sub $100 hype train king. Still not officially available here but can get on tb/ali for $90+ after tax. RRP in the US is USD$100 so expect our local pricing to be ard $130 when it launches here. No sense paying for local markup other than for the warranty.

Add: Just checked Oneplus shopee official store and they have actually just listed the Buds 3 for sale @ $149.......

Yeah.....can just wait for 3rd party shops or online sellers to receive stock and start selling. Probably gonna be $10-20 cheaper than Oneplus's rrp. Take Galaxy Buds FE for example which Samsung themselves are selling for $149 but it can be found as cheap as $85-90 from 3rd party sellers and these are Samsung warranty sets. not export sets. The price difference is pretty ridiculous.

Yes.....around $100. Couple weeks ago have some $10 bank or site vouchers so possible to bring the price down to ard $90. However, direct air shipping not allowed so either you engage 3rd party forwarder or use cainiao sea shipping which takes 2-3 weeks if not longer.

i usually recv mine taobao items in less than 2 weeks, around 10-12 days usually, using sea shipping.
ship air is usually about 7-9 days to singapore (after it reaches warehse). must use 直邮 option, means it leaves warehouse within 2,3 hrs automatically after it arrives.

FeatureProsCons
Sound quality- Class-leading, crisp, clear, detailed, especially with LDAC (HiFi audio quality)- AAC mode has less resolution
Noise cancellation- Great at blocking out noise, comparable to top brands (Sony, Apple)- Transparency mode sounds a bit unnatural, not as realistic as Sony/Apple (e.g., might sound slightly muffled or artificial)
Battery life- Up to 7 hours per charge (LDAC), 4.5 hours (AAC), additional 1/2 hour with ANC off- No significant drawbacks noted
Features- Unique: Connect to 3 devices simultaneously, customizable controls, wireless charging, auto wear detection- App can be complex and overwhelming (e.g., many options, less intuitive layout)
Comfort and fit- Secure and comfortable for many, 7 ear tip sizes included- May not fit all ear shapes perfectly (general observation based on reviews), shallower fit compared to previous model
Build quality- Premium design, aluminum charging case, IPX4 water resistance- Larger and heavier charging case compared to previous model (dimensions: previous model - 51x54x24mm, EAH-AZ80 - 63x42x21.7mm)
Price- $300, competitive with other high-end earbuds (e.g., Sony WF-1000XM4, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds)- Expensive compared to some good-quality mid-range and budget alternatives (e.g., Jabra Elite 75t, Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro)
Sound Presentation- Open, spacious soundstage (unique selling point)
Competition- Stiff competition at the price point
Design- Smooth, unfussy design
Bluetooth- Latest Bluetooth 5.3 for improved connectivity
Voice Assistant- Compatible with Google Assistant, Siri, Alexa
JustMyVoice Technology- Unique feature for clear voice calls (potential selling point)

Reasons to Buy:

  • Exceptional sound quality, especially with LDAC
  • Strong noise cancellation
  • Unique features: Multi-device connectivity, customization, wireless charging
  • Open, spacious soundstage
  • Premium design
  • Latest Bluetooth 5.3
  • Voice assistant compatibility
  • JustMyVoice technology for clear calls
Reasons to Consider Elsewhere:

  • Expensive compared to some good-quality alternatives
  • Less natural transparency mode than some competitors
  • App can be complex
  • May not fit all ear shapes perfectly
  • Bulkier charging case
Overall:

The Technics EAH-AZ80 earbuds boast class-leading sound quality, particularly with LDAC, and effective noise cancellation comparable to top brands. They stand out with unique features like multi-device connectivity and JustMyVoice technology for clear calls. However, the price is high compared to some alternatives, and the transparency mode isn't as natural as the competition. Consider your budget, priorities, and ear shape before deciding if these earbuds are right for you.

Unless you really want the gimmicky 360 audio feature on the Buds 2, the Buds FE selling at around $85-90 would be better as it has longer battery life and the stability fin design should see a more comfortable fit for most folks. The next step up would be Buds 2 Pro which you can get korean export set on Qoo10 for ard $130 inclusive of online tax.

Holy cow, that price tag!
Just curious, any reason to look at this instead of other similarly priced "known" brand or cheaper ones?

$439+ !? too much le bah! haha. if got budget i rather buy sony at that price, which is $359.
