Thinking of getting the 593V...

no offers for PT492?

Hi vvaness40

There is no promo for PT492V.

For those who enquire the difference between each model, here is the comparison chart for your reference.

Hi, Dean,

With your help manage to setup the cam and also over the internet.

The cam will sound "click, chick" once in a while,
is that normal?

Thanks.

Hi Jupiter

The click click is the kick in of the infra red when it detects the specified ambience is dark.

Not to worry, it is normal

Hi Jul Seah,

This morning the 2 ipcams Sineoji PT497V was delivered to your doorsteps and set-up on your iphone and android phone. The live video in HD mode was also performed on your phone using mobile data 4G and your video was very responsive with no lag when you Pan & Tilt.

Just to take note that it will be ideal to place your router in the TV console instead of placing inside the TV console so that you get a better wifi coverage.

Enjoy !

Hi Siwei,

2 units of PT497V was delivered to your doorsteps yesterday evening and we set it up on your iphones. Tested the Pan and Tilt function on 4 G mobile was responsive. The 2nd ipcam that was placed in the bedroom was also responsive. Tested the night vision by turning off the lights too.

Do take note that do not place the ipcam next to your speakers on the TV console as this affect the wireless distorting the wavelength.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you for using Sineoji IPCams.

Hi Peter,

We delivered the PT593V to your doorstep and set it up on your iphones. Despite that the ipcam is on the other end of the hall where it is residing in the kitchen, the wireless coverage is moderately sufficient.

We tested on the Pan & Tilt function on mobile 4G data and the camera pan and tilt responsively on live.

As you will need the camera to be placed above the wall ceiling, I will be bringing a 2 metres extension power cable so that so that it can be connected via your power socket which is below the ceiling.

Hope all is good and thanks for using Sineoji ipcam.

Many of us who have wireless IP cameras at home would like to be able to view the images when we are not at home. To do this, one way is to use a Dynamic DNS service such as dyndns.org. To those looking to use dyndns.org service or something similar, you must first understand the theory behind this.

For those on ADSL, whenever you logon to the Internet, the internet service provider (ISP) will assign an IP address to your line. So if you are wishing to access your home network from the WAN side (i.e. from outside your home), unless you can type the IP address directly (169.24.224.43 or something), it may be better to use a named IP address.

That is why dyndns.org or dynamic DNS service provider comes in. If you set up your router to use DNS, each time you (i.e. your router) logon to the Internet, the router will inform the DNS service provider the IP address that your ISP has assigned to your router. Thus, if you set up to use dr_archer.dyndns.org, then all you need to know is that dr_archer.dydns.org is the URL of your network.

This is the first part, which is to give yourself a named URL via the DNS service. Next, you must configure your router to allow you access to your camera (or any other equipment) from the WAN side (i.e. the internet side). Basically, this means doing port forwarding. On your home network (LAN side), each PC/gadget has its own IP address. For example, your IP camera might have been configured to be 192.168.1.50. You will need to set the port forwarding such that any request on the WAN side be redirected to 192.168.1.50. Typically, you would set up a port such that any reference to the port on the WAN side will be redirected to 192.168.1.50. Finally, you may need to create filter rules to allow for inbound traffic.

Using the DIR-655 as an example,

(1) First set up the Dynamic DNS page. In this example, I am setting up the URL to be archer.dyndns.org.
dyndnspage.jpg

(2) Next set up the port forwarding. In this case, I am using DIR-655's Virtual Server function. The Local IP address of my IP camera has been configured as 192.168.1.50. By setting up the public port as 33350, it means that if I want to access the camera, I will have to type http://archer.dydns.org:33350 (note the 33350 after the colon on the URL).
virtualserver.jpg

(3) Finally, set up the inbound filter. Here, I set up the filter to allow all WAN IP addresses (0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255) permission to access the network. You may want to restrict the IP address to certain ranges only (e.g. your company's IP address).
inboundfilter.jpg

If you are using a camera (via 3G) to access your camera, you will need to get the right app. Typical information you will need is

a) URL of your camera. In the above, the URL would be http://archer.dyndns.org:33350. If you are required to indicate the port, in this example, it would be 33350.
b) The login username and password used for your camera (e.g. User: smc, Password: smcadmin
c) Camera model. Choose the SMC model from your app. If you can't find the SMC camera (it is after all quite new), you can use Trendnet IP-422 model, since this seems to be functionally identical to the SMC camera.

Happy baby monitoring with your SMC!

Was looking at this very first few posts that was made by Dr_ARCHer and managed to set up all my wireless cams via my asus router with the above guide. Kudos to OP!

Just need to clarify on step 3 of the above guide. What is this filter for and its purpose? Lastly, how do I set step 3 on a asus rt-ac87u?

Side note, my cams are all operational (without step 3) both via wifi or 3/4G.

TIA

Most newer IP cameras nowsaday have very soft IR filter cut over clicks or almost unhearable switch over already.

I know C series n Marix's zafego had non hearable cut filter switch over. So, you wont get that irritating clicks

Decided upon Sineoji after reading the feedback here. Great service from Dean and very happy with the two cameras installed in my living room and kitchen :). We can finally view what's happening at home when we not around and even my baby can point at the IP camera when we speak through the audio mode.

Love the wide angle and the panning responsiveness of the cameras. N service from Dean is really great, helpful punctual and friendly and not afraid to get hands dirty to install the cameras for us. Even my hubby think it's s great deal. So glad we don't have to go all the way down to Sitex and squeeze to get such great deal.

Thanks again Dean!

Yesterday Dean came to my house to install PT593V and PT497V. Dean did an excellent job in helping me to setup both cameras. Kudos to him! I am also impressed with the camera functions especially the night vision. Very clear and sharp! The best function I like most is the ability to preset up to 7 viewing angles. Very convenient and save time to pan and tilt!
Good job to Dean and Sineoji!

Could you please post a guide on how to setup motion recording to ftp? I've got my ftp setup and online but i am clueless about setting up the motion detection on the camera.
