Hi all!

I'm planning to get an IP camera to monitor the FDW's handling of my baby daughter.

Read through the 10 most recent pages of this thread. Seems like most of the setup is rather complicated.

Upon googling further, came across the "Iconic IP cameras" @ ICONIC IP Camera

Anyone has tried their products?

My requirements:

(1) Ceiling-mount
(2) Connected via WiFi
(3) Web-access for remote viewing through PC/laptop & mobile phones
(4) Continuous recording (to PC?)
(5) Able to record during the night also
(6) Clear picture & audio recording
(7) Pan/tilt/zoom would be a bonus

Any recommended alternatives, please, for DIY installation?

Coolcam r from szNeo, had 1 before 3xoptical zoom. But image not as good as foscam back then. Sound wise not expecting too good as well for ip cams. Can it PnP? Latest range i not sure. In terms of easy setup, if it isn't design for PnP, it will b same as traditional setup wif port forwardings, etc.

The last few post of problems is where u get ur cams from, why marix's cam works while others r complaining? U decide. My mentality is still the same, pay peanuts get monkeys. Go tests out demos before u buy. Take ur time to decide.

i gotten 3 vstarcam products for its spec, but each have their flaws and instability. Gonna try out foscam and see how it goes.

i second to that, bought few of their units, all having issues within a year. Thus unreliability of their cams comes into play.

Three bare walls would probably work. Three concrete walls probably not. One cloths closet or kitchen pans drop signal to almost nothing. Get an android phone and a program like Wifi Analyzer and measure your signals. Just moving the router or camera inch's can make a big difference.

Really depends. My last miobox is one room away also have drops. Changed router n didn't see drops anymore. U can try using wifi analyzer, if signal is near -70 n below, n u notice ur wireless does disappear, then penetration is an issue.

hi

i was wondering if someone could share their settings for sending out emails (gmail account holder here) from vstarcam H6837WIP cameras. I am not sure what to put inside the fields for the webUI page.

I finally got Vstarcam tech support by using the Tech>Chat feature on the right side of their web page as suggested by another Board member in a PM. They answered all of my questions. The answer to the question of Super Client alarm functions and T7838WIP is no it does not work. The answer to my problems with IE Browser 9 and having to open the screen again in another tab is that T7838WIP and TODO add-on has compatibility problems with 9 and I should use 7 or 8. I will try and post the chat session here.

Hope this helps! Press Submit first to save your configuration and then press "TEST" to test it out!

Yes, when others are complaining and only you singing praises something is really wrong.

We would like to assure all our beloved customers here that T7838WIP works on IE 9.0, do refer to the following youtube video on a T7838WIP running on IE9.0

IE9_T7838WIP - YouTube

The IP Camera Super Client does allows you to read the SD Card recordings on the T7838WIP, however, it will take some time to complete reading a FULL 32GB MicroSD Card, R&D is working on this area to allow faster retrieval.

We would like to thank a few of our customers in HWZ who had volunteered to help us test out factory sample units before retail release for us to get our SG versions which already had teething problems sorted out before we bring in for retail sales.

We are constantly improving the product with feedbacks received from our clients. Our customers will be notified of any bug fixes and enhancements in the firmware once our local tech team tests the new firmwares prior for release to our clients.

Any estimates of the cost for MARIX to do a full installation with ceiling mount in a HDB living room for the VStarcam H6837WIP?

My wife & I are eager to get the camera set up soonest possible...
