Get the DYN UPDATER client here. There is a client for Win7, OSX and Linux/Unix. By installing this and running it on a PC within your private network, it will sync and update the dynamic IP address.

I thou the free account will expire 30 days regardless of update or not ?

Thx Dr...

Seems like the only choice :(

you can buy a wireless router that can use 3G sim card.. but if you are using with too many connection the signal might affect the video quality. or you can look for something like huawai e5

Secondly, our new HUAWEI Router from Starhub (for MaxInifity plan) already have DDNS feature.

And it is pointing to DynDNS.org and result is Success, still need the client to update the Host? Technically is no need right ?

Bro, the account will expire if you have no host update to their services. That's what I
remembered.

For those on 3G router using DYNDNS, take note that sometimes ISP issue the IP address,
you do a few refresh on speedtest website, you will notice that your external IP keep
changing, just need to reboot your router and allow a refresh of the IP.

If you read the DynDNS pages, it says that such hardware (and other software) are 3rd party applications, so they do not guarantee that it will work.

Previously, I was using the hardware DynDNS from Dlink (DIR-655) and then Asus (RT-N56U). In both instances, I have to do a manual confirmation to continue with the service. Since switching to DYN UPDATER, I never receive their email to do a manual confirmation.

Are you Foscam's distributor? I only know of 1 official distributor for them here in Singapore :s11:

Hi,

Yes, we are foscam's authorized distributor in Singapore. If you refer back to the posts earlier on from marixspl, you will see
our authorised distributor certificates. We have posted here
before.

Thanks for your reply. Just wanted to find out if you're the authorized distributor. Why does foscam singapore claim they are the only authorized? :s11::s11:

i am looking to buy another 2 more units of the 8918...

Hi, I just purchased some FOSCAM cameras.... The image is quite jerky over the 3G network on my iPhone but acceptable over WLAN... Is there some minimum bandwidth requirement on the uplink of the broadband? Foscam users can share your experience?

That will depends on when you asked them, MARIX's cert shows they
were distributors from May onwards, but if you refer to the threads earlier
on, you will know that foscam singapore doesn't seems to be aware that
MARIX has become a distributor (authorized) in Singapore.

Seems that FOSCAM did not inform the earlier distributors of new
distributors in the region. BTW, MARIXSPL is running a promo now. Got
lucky draw. You can contact them for more details.

Price wise, MARIXSPL may be more expensive, but the tech support is
good with the after sales service. I had a white unit which the base
can't fit into the screws, they did a recall, collected all the unfitted bases.
And recently, came to my house and replace the base. I'm a happy man.

Bro, I noticed that any uplink less than 386kbps will be jerky over 3G.
My ADSL with up to 1mbps is quite OK. My friends' Fibre network will
also experience slow images, which we later figure out was the download
speed issue from ISP.

Bro, DR_ARCHER has used BLUE-IRIS or something, I tried Super IP Camera
Client, but end up using a QNAP TS-110 NAS instead. You should consider
using a NAS instead. Low power consumption and online playback.

The foscam has its own build in record, but not friendly. Where you buy
your foscam from?

Thanks geckoSG bro. I just went to signup MaxOnline yesterday and the streaming is ok now.... I was using mobile BB previously.... high latency and the uplink was slow.
