Just wondering, I cannot seem to get the photos uploaded on the Huawei RG256. Seems that access is denied after making sure all inputs are correct. Anyone can help on this? TIA :)

I've submitted my end-user experience review for both the H6837WIP and the E7839WIP to MARIX today after testing the E7839WIP for 2 days. Think they will start posting up at their blogspot real soon.

I've also done a H6837WIP review as per their request since they say so many people are asking for an end-user review which I didn't reject since they gave me very special price when I ask them to bring in the V6834W 10X Zoom for me.

I will also prepare a review soon on the V6834W 10X Zoom as I'm still playing with it in the office. Am trying to understand the CAN and CANNOT of the camera.

May I know when will E7839WIP (HD) be available? I am planning to use it as a baby monitor.

You might need to wait for a while longer as MARIX just brought in this for full testing by their engineers. I am lucky to be the first end-user to do a review. Perhaps the first in the world! They have just released my review earlier on a while ago.

My FI8918W last me for around 3 months, then the motor stop panning, i took down the camera from the mounting bracket, I can hear something came loose, shake the camera, I hear something knocking inside.

My H6837WIP, lasts me from April til now, still alive and kicking well despite me panning/tilting daily to hunt for my kid whom will hide from the camera knowing daddy is watching him.

But maybe, its just me that I damn unlucky with my Foscam, didn't return it as shipping would cost me the price of a brand new camera. Once bitten twice shy. Threw it into the dustbin once my H6837WIP was home.

I will start writing my review on the V6837W 10x Zoom Camera soon. Had fun zooming in and out (optical).

H6837WIP

I can get the 6837 WIP to work by LAN but somehow the wireless streaming does not work. Any settings i need to take note of on an Asus RT-N56?

hi Gecksg
Same here, I am unable to get video streaming outside my network/LAN to work , but jt is on a 2wire. Any help from you guys, would be great.

I tried to use my xxxxx.dyndns.xx , instead of factory default for the gocam on h6837, but it did not work as well. what did you input for dns host ? many thanks in advance

hi DRArcher,
what would be the best android app to set up to view video
streaming for H6837WIP on android ICS 4.0 ? the default program given by Vstarcam always "kick me out", when I tried to "add camera" No chance to scan the QR code nor key in any details.. many thanks in advance

P2PCAM264 should work well, try deleting and re-download it. I'm on ICS4 as well on my Galaxy SII.

How are you streaming from outside? If you have corporate firewall, then do not use the corporate WIFI to view, cos IT Administrators may have blocked all access to external other than the usual port 80.

To know if its your corporate firewall blocking you, try testing it on 3G. There's nothing much for you to configure unless you are talking about watching H6837WIP using web browser, then PORT FORWARDING on 2WIRE is required.

Do call your reseller/distributor if you have problem with your VStarcam, I'm sure the tech support team would be happy to help you.

thank you. Then I think I am having issues with my S2 with ICS 4.0 , as I have deleted the app many times and tried to down-load from Playstore and the Vstarcam mobile website several times. But Still , it wont work.

But I have tested the P2Pcam264 on ipad2 and iphone via APP store , it is working fine and my external viewing via 3G is okay.
So now I can confirm that my port forwarding on my 2wire modem from singtel is working.

I even wrote to the Developer for help, the P2Pcam264 just shut down on my S2 when I click " add camera ". It is the most unusual error I get , which is a Force Close ( FC ) action with no FC message..

Can you kindly recommend any android app that will work with our S2 for H6837WIP for audio / speaking & PTZ function? for the IP Cam viewer Pro by Robert Chou, do you know the settings that you can share with me?

with so many Samsung S3 users , it is really good to know you , as another S2 user..cheers !

ISSUES with P2PCAM264 use on H6837WIP

Dear All,
Just to share some information here. Had to do factory reset on Galaxy S2 phone in order to get P2PCAM264 to work on VSTARCAM H6837WIP. Note that I only have 15 downloaded apps and not sure which one actually caused the conflicts.

Will have try other paid android app and review, if time permits.

My set-up :
1) MODEM /ROUTER TYPE : 2wire model 5012nv - crappy free modem by Singtel .
Note: Port forwarding done , since I need to view camera over 3G from my tab P6200 , ipad 2 and galaxy S2 .

2) App NAME : P2PCAM264 used on IPAD2, TAB P6200
( upgraded Honeycomb 3.2 by Samsung in Aug 2012 , when unit failed on 21 AUG , Samsung say no ICS for my P6200 )

Like what VSTARCAM claimed and per GeckoSg, it is easy to set up H6837WIP ( plug and play ), but port forwarding still need to be done on 2wire 5012nv for viewing over 3G on above phones and tablets.

Cheers!

RE

I'm in the process of converting all my DLINK ip cameras (except the 6620G) to day/night IR type.

Anyone knows whether the popular brands like by DLINK, FOSCAM, VSTARCAM, AXIS, VIVOTEK, PANASONIC etc come with invisible IR (940nm) day/night ip cameras? If yes, which model(s)?

The normal IR ip cameras come with 850nm LEDS which glow like the red traffic light in the dark. I would prefer those 940nm LED type which don't emit a red annoying glow.

I believe the 940nm type IR ip cameras cost more and less common.
