I brought it @$218 with doorstep delivery. It's a 720p camera H.264 compression. Image quality is acceptable for mobile device, but its better on ur PC browser.

Can explain what do you mean by Image quality is acceptable for mobile device, is it not good? Can it do LIVE Streaming like the VStarcam series?

Hi,

Acceptable mean for mobile stream is 2nd stream which is a QVGA quality which is acceptable to me. I can control the tilt n pan too.
For pc stream is 1st stream 720p quality. The image quality definitely better.
Both is live stream.

PnP as in easy setup?
Im using the live cam apps from eggman. Require the usual input to setup. (key in the ip, user & password)
After that it will be a direct connection to the camera.

Thanks for the clarification!

So, in summary, for comparison between Foscam and VStarcam for MOBILE SURVEILLANCE wise, the FI8920W is not plug and play setup like VStarcam's E7839WIP nor H6837WIP. And FI8920W not able to do SMOOTH LIVE streaming via mobile surveillance but retrieving FRAME by FRAME M-JPEG streaming (which is not smooth) on third party apps even if its on H.264 Streaming.

If so, VStarcam's feature definitely wins Foscam's features hands down other than the price factor. So, this will be the consideration point I think for consumers.

I think I will wait for VStarcam's E7839WIP to come instead since Smooth LIVE Streaming is important for me to see what's going on. Sound wise, I don't think both companies are of any differences at the end of the day.

Oh yah, MARIX should be releasing my 10x ZOOM review on their blogspot this coming week after the COMEX.

Anyone can let me know where can I get the latest firmware for H6837WIP?

Kyoichi,

You can get it from this link. I got this link directly from the Vstarcam CSO.

VStarcam link

It is in Chinese. Look for 摄像机固件智能升级工具. After installing the software, it will auto search for latest firmware and update for you.

I have just helped my friend to order 1 pc of VStarcam E7839WIP at a price of S$159 from Vstarcam Authorized Dealer in China (including shipping + SG/UK type plug). Waiting for it to arrive. :)

Hope that it will be as good as H6837WIP.

I would say its same clarity as per the recorded clips on the microSD card. Hence quality will be much better. The demo Unit I had have the IR Sensor at the bottom of the camera. Note that play back is via webUI.

Well, E7839WIP will be coming in soon I think. With changed IR sensor position from bottom to the top. MARIX side told me to wait patiently for my order as they insist that their order for Singapore must have the sensor on the top of the camera to prevent an error on the light sensor.

So, those who had bought the earlier batch will definitely not have these amended designs fixed.

BTW. the posting of my review of the 10x ZOOM will be delayed as they have been very busy since last week. A lot of orders they are trying to fulfill since COMEX.

They may be collecting pre-launch order soon for E7839WIP from what I understand.

Any bros facing problems with your IP cam on Starhub Fibre?

Maybe someone can assist me here. I was previous on the normal maxonline ultimate. Had no issues or connectivity issues with my Foscam FI8918W.

After upgrading to Starhub Fibre with the new D-Link gateway, i keep getting intermittent and mostly unable to connect. Had already done port forwarding in the virtual server of the gateway.

However from my computer, i can see my cam ip etc from the software and able to login.

I tested with a few iphones, andriods etc...all keep having this problem of connecting.

anyone can assist if fault lies with the IP cam?

i had all along been using from dyndns. Problems all flow in with this fibre broadband.

On the IP Cam software on my computer, i can see and can open to the link and connect.

Other than that, no and sometimes intermittent...all connected using dyndns...
