Which app are you using? The icon should be a close up lens with GREEN banner at left bottom showing 264. APP name should be P2PCam264

Yes I'm using P2PCAM264. Now i use PnPCam H, got less password error.

Any android ip cam viewer, that can sound notify with motion detected? And can persist in the background.

Currently using dedicated email to sound, upon receiving email alerts from cameras.

Hi, I'm using a Hua wei brand portable wifi hotspot. My wifi IP camera is configured to access this hua wei wifi hotspot. The problem i have is the WAN IP (public) i see that appears in the wifi hotspot is a 10.240x.x network. I tried pinging this IP from the internet but it's not reachable. therefore i'm not able to access the camera over internet. But using a laptop connecting to this wifi, I'm able to surf the net. I'm able to access the camera from this wifi network. Also, I've just applied for a multi SIM from Singtel for use in this portable wifi. I have called Singtel up but they say they cannot help me with this problem. I like to check if any of you have any problem with using Singtel 3G SIM on a IP camera?

You cannot use hotspot. It does not do routing in...
You should get 3G ROUTER, not MIFI.

If my frd wants to buy an affordable IP camera that allow you to also do playback, which models should I look at? What else should I get other than the IP Camera itself?

Do playback means can record. Affordable wise, what is your budget?
If no plug and play, I think last saw the H6837WI (VStarcam) at $129.
Limited stocks, call MARIX and check with them.

Got everything of H6837WIP less the plug and play and APP's LIVE Streaming. Got offline player already, so can playback, less AUDIO recording
to microsd card.

Just got the DLink 942L @$159 at Bizgram.

Video sets to 640x480, streaming was at most 4fps.. lol
Have to set to 360x240, with 10-14fps. Both settings have 2-3sec lag,
and my entire 10MBps singtel boardband almost totally used up.

Anyway, I dun expect good from at sub $200 camera.
btw, just to confirm with bros here, the low fps, is it due to my boardband speed?

Just ordered Foscam FI9820W. Current users which iOS apps you using for this model? Seems like pretty much paid apps doesn't support this model, don't understand why.

Where are you streaming your video to? Mobile phone? There is a network to network lag too.

Robert Chou's IP Cam Viewer is a paid app, and it supports quite a few camera, including FI9820 and FI9820 (h264). For some brands, some models are compatible with others i.e. you don't need to use the exact same model.

It's not the camera. It is the network. If the network is congested, you will see quite a bit of lag. During the early morning, when I am in my office, both my M1 3G and my SingTel 3G gives me acceptable framerates. Once people start coming in, the lag gets worse.

Those who purchased from MARIX on the VStarcam H6837WIP and have frequently or recently encounter "password error", please contact us and provide us with you serial numbers.

Hi all

Trying to learn more about IP cameras.

Currently looking at setting up 4 x cameras, with digital recording to NAS.

NAS shortlised included Synology DS212J, DS 231+, DS413, Dlink DNR -326 and EDIMAX video recorder

Cameras looking at Dlink DCS 5222L.

Main purpose of the cameras is for home surveillance and wathching and commuicating with children via mobile devices, tablets, in Singapore and from oversras.

The above setup Synology DS 231+ and 2 x 3TB HDD, and 4x Dlink DCS 5222L would easily more than 2k SGD.

Is it better to get those CCTV cameras instead?
